NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 8
02/05/2013Today we’re wrapping up the recaps from NYIGF Winter 2013 with one final post – and this time we’re back to my favorite topic! It felt like there were more stationery exhibitors than ever this year, yay! First up for today, the colorful screen printed cards and tea towels from Fisk & Fern. Each design is hand illustrated by Laura and the collection features some of the cutest little characters I’ve ever seen!
Amber from a.favorite design had one of my favorite booth designs of the whole show, with a really fun circus-inspired marquee layout. It was the perfect complement to her wonderful letterpress stationery. Amber’s cards always find the perfect balance between humor and sentiment.
I love the delicate patterns and soft colors from the London-based Caroline Gardner. The collection includes desk sets, magazine holders, photo albums, even storage boxes and candles! So so pretty.
I was thrilled to stumble upon these colorful patterned gift wrap sheets, greeting cards, notebooks, and mugs from another UK-based company called 1973. I need to get my hands on some of the gift wrap in particular, and soon!
I was beyond excited to visit the Tattly booth at NYIGF! I’m such a huge fan of these design-minded temporary tattoos and they most definitely did not disappoint in person. Bonus: the packaging and minimalist booth design was almost as nice as the tattoos themselves!
It was so nice to catch up with Rumi from Winged Wheel. Her new collection of die cut number, letter, and animal cards are such a fun way to send cards and invitations for special occasions from birthdays to anniversaries!
There was so much wonderful color in the Rock Scissor Paper booth. So fitting for these talented LA-based stationers!
Fun bilingual letterpress greeting cards and patterned gift wrap from the ladies of Viva Greetings:
Kim from Austin Press always has the most beautiful vintage-inspired stationery, all letterpress printed on super thick museum board!
That’s it from NYIGF Winter 2013 – I’d love to hear your favorites from the show! If you missed the previous recaps, you can check them out right here.

02/04/2013I love a bit of sparkle in my wardrobe, so I couldn’t resist taking a closer peek at some of the jewelry exhibitors at the NYIGF winter market – and today I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you! First up, I was absolutely thrilled to run into Laura of Prismera – I’m a huge fan and already own several of her nature-inspired pieces. I’m completely in love with all the color that she has incorporated into her collection, from soft pastels to bold hues.
Over in the Handmade section of NYIGF, I stumbled into a shared booth featuring several jewelry lines. I was completely awed by the bold, graphic lasercut jewelry, coasters, and paper prints (!!) from Molly M Designs, along with the delicate fine jewelry from Hortense and modern collections from Paper Wings.
I was beyond smitten with these adorable bow rings and necklaces by Kiel Mead. I prefer the gold and silver versions, but the colorful options are so cute, too!
I just had to get a closer look at the gorgeous rings and stunning raw diamond necklaces from Rebecca Overmann – so beautiful! The first ring below would make such a wonderful engagement ring or anniversary gift, don’t you think?
My friend Laurel Denise makes the most beautiful jewelry, from delicate necklaces and bracelets to leather cuffs. She also has a wonderful collection of small vases with sweet phrases printed on the front – they make such sweet gifts!
I’ll be back with one last post from NYIGF Winter 2013 tomorrow!

NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 6
02/04/2013Today we’re jumping back into recaps from the NYIGF Winter 2013 market with two more posts full of fun eye candy! There’s an entire section dedicated to products for babies and children, from toys to clothing, and this year I took the time to properly browse and pick out a few favorites. I was thrilled when I spotted the 3 Sprouts booth – we already love their adorable bath towels (we have the walrus), and admire that they incorporate unusual animals like hippos and goats into their designs.
Finally, adorable storage boxes that fit PERFECTLY in the Ikea Expedit! I absolutely love the animal options – the dragon and unicorn are too cute!
I’ve been a fan of Wee Gallery since even before Sophie came along – we love their stamp sets, temporary tattoos, graphic black + white animal flash cards, I could go on and on!
Super soft cotton baby blankets!
I can’t wait until Sophie is old enough to play with some of the more educational toys, and these wooden block sets from Uncle Goose are at the top of my list. I absolutely love their language sets, which come in a staggering eighteen languages (!!), and the political nerd in me is completely crazy for the presidential block set.
Petit Collage makes some of the most well-designed baby toys and decorations, from prints and decals to mobiles and puzzles. The beginner puzzle sets are so incredibly cute – the baby animal is always the key piece!
I’m always on the lookout for baby and shower gifts that are both pretty and useful – and the knit toys and baby books from loralin design absolutely fit the bill. The books in particular are so great, from a baby gift record keeper and nursing journal to a baby visitor guestbook!

NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 5
02/01/2013I love making new discoveries at trade shows, and I think my favorite discovery from NYIGF Winter 2013 was Little Korboose. The booth was packed full of fun screen printed goodies, from adorable alphabet prints and nursery artwork to tea towels and toys, all featuring April’s hand drawn illustrations. So so cute!
These stunning lacquer jewelry and storage boxes from Swing Design stopped me in my tracks on the NYIGF floor. I love the clean lines and bright colors – yay for pretty storage!
I don’t often see pet-related goods at NYIGF, so I was super excited to stumble upon the modern pet accessories from Love Thy Beast! The collection includes cat houses with a graphic geometric pattern, large pet beds, animal collars, dog tote bags and winter jackets – even a greeting card collection in partnership with Near Modern Disaster!
If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I’m obsessed with these hot air balloons from Authentic Models. I want to hang them all over the ceiling of Sophie’s nursery (you know, if we ever manage to actually buy a house). I couldn’t resist taking a few extra photos of the nerdy library-inspired decor in the rest of the booth.
Check back next week for the final recaps from NYIGF Winter 2013!

NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 4
01/31/2013If I had to pick a favorite exhibitor category other than stationery, it would definitely be anything textile-related. I love all the pretty patterns and bright colors, and will happily award bonus points to anything that helps with storage or organization. Textiles are always well-represented at NYIGF, so today I thought I’d showcase a few of my favorites from this show, from apparel to bath towels! First up, a longtime favorite here at OSBP – the fabulous fabric gift wrap and canvas storage bins from Chewing the Cud!
I was completely smitten with the gold pattern stitching and neon piping on these pillows and scarves from Christen Maxwell. Such a wonderful way to incorporate color and sparkle into your home decor!
I loved all the colorful textiles from Patch Design Studio based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee. From tea towels to pillow covers to little onesies, these amazing textiles are all printed by hand – from hand carved blocks!
I’ve been a Baggu fan for years and was thrilled to see them expand their collection with canvas and leather options. This time they added a bunch of fun new colors and patterns to the collection, and I’m totally in love with the oversize weekender bag!
p.s. a polka dot version of my favorite Baggu canvas backpack!
Of course, I had to swing by the Aesthetic Movement booth to check out the latest goodies from Stephen and Shauna of Forage Haberdashery (the amazing duo also behind Seed House Stationers). I’m loving the new handkerchiefs!

The Utility Canvas booth caught my eye with tons of vibrant and colorful bags! The neon pink tote bag below is my particular favorite.
These preppy bags from Sloane Ranger come in a variety of sizes, from tiny wristlets to huge duffels. The tiny floral pattern is just so lovely, and you can’t go wrong with a classic stripe or lobster pattern!
I’m such a huge fan of Virginia Johnson, particularly the gorgeous scarves. I was so excited to see a brand new iPhone case collection at this show!

I’d heard about these Japanese cotton towels, so I was really curious to see them in person – and they were even better than I had hoped! I absolutely love the soft colors and beautiful patterns, and they’re incredibly soft. I can’t wait to fill our bathroom with these beauties!
