Jen’s Nautical Baby Shower Invitations

How cute are these nautical baby shower invitations from Kim at Bright Room Studio? Created for Kim’s childhood friend Jen, the invitations combine a sweet anchor pattern, blue and mint color palette, and the sweetest greeting: Ahoy, it’s a boy!

From Kim:Â Jen is one of my best friends from high school so I was absolutely honored to create her baby shower invitation for her! The shower was thrown at her uncle’s seafood restaurant so a nautical theme was a no-brainer. And “Ahoy, it’s a boy!” was just too cute to pass up!

Even though the invitation was for a baby shower, I wanted the design to be sophisticated. The blue-gray and mint color palette and subtle rope and anchor details were the perfect way to keep it masculine, preppy, and classic.

My favorite detail was the anchor pattern on the back. The mint anchors represent their new family, with a little baby anchor next to the “mom” and “dad” anchors.

Chris + Erin’s Adventure-Inspired Baby Shower Invitations

Parenthood is definitely an adventure, so I’m loving the theme behind these adventure baby shower invitations from Brynne at Harken Press! Brynne incorporated the nursery color palette â€“ coral and navy â€“ along with playful aqua envelopes. Sweet, simple, and delightfully whimsical!

From Brynne:Â Erin and Chris’s baby shower invitation was inspired by the unpredictable journey to parenthood and their love of simple and whimsical style. â€œItâ€™s an adventureâ€ has been the ongoing motto for this expecting couple. They knew they wanted to work it into the invitations. The hot air balloon was the perfect image for the exciting ups and downs of life.Â

Navy and coral ink with aqua envelopes were a fun way to bring in colors from the nursery. The invitations are letterpress printed on pearl white Lettra cotton paper.

Vivi Mae’s Peach + Gold Birth Announcements

Happy Monday everyone! For those of you not enjoying a long weekend, I thought I’d start the week with these beautiful peach and gold baby announcements from Val Marie Paper! After welcoming her first child â€“ an adorable daughter named Vivienne Mae â€“ Valerie drew inspiration from gold envelope liners for the birth announcements. Valerie made sure to include Vivi’s stats and a photo of the happy new family of three while also conveying Vivi’s nickname to friends and family. So sweet!

From Valerie:Â As a designer, I had been eyeing some beautiful envelope liners from Paper Source and knew they would be perfect for Vivi’s peach and gold color palette. From there, I teamed up with Katherine Holly to calligraph Vivi’s name.Â We wanted to incorporate a few fun aspects knowing many of our friends and family had met Vivi before they received the announcements. We included some of Vivi’s nicknames during the first few weeks. She has even more now!

We also wanted to include a photo our new little family. I know when I see friends with new little ones, I always love to see photos of the parents too in their new element. And this being the year of Prince Edward, I thought it would be fun to add a little seal of Vivi’s initials that we can use on future designs. Not quite as fancy as the future king of England’s but fun nonetheless!

Part of our challenge was including her full name but letting people know what we would be calling her. Creating a two-sided card with her full name and info on the back seemed like the best solution for us!

Sophie Style: Shoes!

Sophie’s daycare requires that she wear hard sole shoes, relegating our favorite pair of moccasins to weekend-only use. Which means I’ve spent a fair amount of time looking for cute infant sneakers that aren’t covered in butterflies or doomed by gaudy color combinations. Sophie is starting to outgrow her first pair of sneakers, so I’m on the hunt for a couple of new pairs along with some sandals to use when the weather warms up in a few months. Here are a few of my favorites!

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! It felt wonderful to get back into the swing of things this week! Sadly, I managed to come down with a slight cold this week, which is probably my body’s way of letting me know not to rush too fast back into a hectic schedule. So I’m off to rest and enjoy the weekend… I hope you all can do the same! But in the meantime…
