{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  I’ve had a wonderful time covering the 2012 National Stationery Show, but after spending much of the last two weeks going through more than 1,000 photos from the show I’m looking forward to turning my attention back to everyday things – like making progress on the nursery!  I’m also super excited about next week because I have a super awesome giveaway to share with you on Monday!  But in the meantime…

National Stationery Show 2012, Part 7

As I mentioned last week, there were a LOT of new exhibitors at this year’s National Stationery Show, and they brought a lot of really awesome paper along with them.  I profiled a few first-time exhibitors last week, but I thought I’d do the same thing today!  First up, the new-to-me Grey Cardigan, with an awesome and well-curated booth full of graphic art prints, gift wrap sheets, and stationery.

The Farewell Paperie booth was an explosion of color and lots of really beautiful (and funny!) stationery.  Designers Lisa and Jen started out in advertising and their background shines through in their fantastic copywriting.  So much pretty paper!

Garrett and Jessica from Wednesday might have been one of the most enthusiastic new exhibitors at the show – they were still smiling even on the last day when everyone else is completely exhausted and in quasi-zombie mode!   I loved all of the fun greeting cards and wedding invitation designs in their booth.

I’ve known Suann from Simplesong Design for years, but this was her first exhibitor appearance at the National Stationery Show!  Suann presented a collection that was perfectly curated and representative of her clean, minimalist design style.

Joel and Ashley from This Paper Ship had one of the sweetest booths at the show, with a fun nautical theme that served as both a nod to their business name and helped display their collection of whimsical prints and cards.

Allison from Lettuce Press made her trade show debut with a wonderfully styled booth and beautifully curated collection of letterpress greeting cards and stationery.

I loved the old-timey and masculine style from The Victory Special Press – including a wood type letterpress printed calendar and some really fun cocktail recipe note cards!

I love the way Brannon from Happy Cactus incorporated the hand drawn patterns from her stationery into her booth design with a hand drawn booth border – such an adorably whimsical touch that helped draw the focus directly to her beautiful cards.

I’ll be back with more from the National Stationery Show soon!

{happy weekend!}

It’s Mother’s Day weekend!  Do any of you have fun plans to celebrate – either with your moms or your own children?  Between preparations for the Stationery Show and baby-related projects our to do list is a mile long (and growing…), so I’m looking forward to having some time this weekend to catch up on everything.  But in the meantime…

{happy weekend!}

So now that our big news is out, it’s time to wish you all a wonderful weekend!  Next week, the husband and I are jetting off to St. Lucia for a few days of rest and relaxation – I can’t wait!  While we’re away I’ll be sharing a little mini guide to DC, from restaurants to shops to museums.  I hope you enjoy the guide!  But in the meantime…

That’s it for me this week!  We’re taking a quick break from Cocktail Fridays until after we get back from our trip, but if you’re looking or a fun recipe to try this weekend – try two of my favorite recipes so far: the Aviation or Vieux Mot.  Have a wonderful weekend!  xoxo

Edge Painted Business Cards from Antiquaria

You already know Bailey and Emma, the lovely and talented ladies behind Antiquaria, from their regular DIY tutorials here on Oh So Beautiful Paper – not to mention their custom wedding invitations and vintage shop.  Bailey and Emma recently redesigned their business cards, and I’m loving the beautiful knockout calligraphy logo and soft aqua edge painting!

From Bailey and Emma: We wanted to make something unique while keeping in line with our brand image.  The cards were letterpress printed in black and copper on super thick cotton paper.  We then added the edge painting ourselves because, after all, who doesn’t love a pop of color?

Thanks ladies!
