Printable Valentine’s Day Envelope Liners

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner – and today I’m sharing a fun printable project to add an extra dose of love (and color) to your Valentine’s Day cards: printable Valentine’s Day envelope liners! I’ve teamed up with Courtney of Swiss Cottage Designs to offer two beautiful envelope liner patterns for you to enjoy. And the best part is that these liners are totally versatile, so you can use them with envelopes of all shapes and sizes!

Printable Valentine's Day Envelope Liners

Courtney created two absolutely gorgeous illustrated liner patterns celebrating two of our favorite things: love letters and flowers! The little bouquets in the floral liners are my favorite thing ever – and can be used any time of year to send some love! And seriously, how cute are all those little illustrated postage stamps, airmail stamps, and wax seals?? Add ’em in to an envelope with a favorite greeting card, or use them with any colorful envelope to send a special hand written message. Bonus points if you add a bit of colorful confetti to your envelope. The more love the better these days!

These would even be fun for weddings and bridal shower invitations, no?

We’ll need a few basic supplies before we get started:

Printable Valentine's Day Envelope Liners

To make the envelope liners:

Step 1. Print your liner pattern of choice onto a letter sized sheet of text weight paper. If you don’t have a home printer, you can easily print these at your local copy and print shop – my printer isn’t that great at printing pink tones, so I had mine printed at my local Staples.

Step 2. On the back of the liner, lightly trace your liner template with pencil. For pointed flap envelopes, I like to use these liner templates from Paper Source. If you’re using square flap envelopes or prefer to DIY your own template, just trace the outline of the back of your envelope onto a sheet of thick card stock. Cut the template from the card stock, being careful to cut on the inside of the lines, and trim an additional 1/16″ off the left and right side and 3/4″ off the bottom of the template. Trace the liner template on the back of each printed liner until you have enough liners for all your envelopes, then carefully cut out each liner with scissors.

Step 3. Place the liner in the envelope. Use a glue stick or double sided tape on the back of the liner (along the top triangle and just above the crease) to adhere the liner to the envelope. Don’t worry about placing any adhesive on the lower part of the liner, since it’s tucked into the envelope it should stay put. Place a ruler along the crease of the envelope flap, then use your bone folder to score the envelope liner. This will help you maintain a clean line when you close your envelopes!

Step 4. Add a fun hand written note or greeting card, and close the envelope. Address the envelope in a playful hand lettering style using a brush marker or writing tool of your choice, and voila! You’ve got yourself a snazzy envelope that is guaranteed to bring a smile to someone’s face!

Since the liner patterns are a full letter-size sheet of paper, you can make them work for any size envelopes, including larger square envelopes, rectangular #10 envelopes, and all standard size greeting card envelopes. No matter what size envelope you’re using, we’ve got you covered!

Illustrated Printable Thanksgiving Dinner Menu

It’s Thanksgiving week! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays (I’m generally a fan of any holiday that involves gathering around a table full of food), and this year I wanted to offer a little something to help make this year’s Thanksgiving dinner even more enjoyable. So before we all go running off to spend the long weekend with family and friends, I’m teaming up with Courtney of Swiss Cottage Designs to create this printable Thanksgiving dinner menu full of Courtney’s beautiful illustrations!

The menus feature illustrations of some of our favorite fall foods and ingredients, including potatoes, carrots, and butternut squash – all essential ingredients of any Thanksgiving feast. Oh, and pie – because Thanksgiving dinner just isn’t complete without at least one pie! Just grab the printable template right here, print on letter size card stock, and use a paper cutter to trim each menu down to size along the provided crop marks. The black and white menu can be printed on card stock of any color to match any Thanksgiving table, but I’m really loving the black and white vibe!

We left a bit of space at the top of each 5″ x 7″ menu so that you could write the names of each dinner guest at the top – making the menus double as place cards! I used my favorite extra fine gold Pen-touch marker to hand letter each name at the top. Or just leave that space blank for more informal seating!

You can write out your menu by hand or use an editing program (I used Adobe Illustrator) to add in your own text. These menus definitely aren’t meant to be fussy, so use whatever method works for you!

Election Night 2016 Bingo!

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been feeling some major election-related anxiety over the past few months. Well, the good news is that the election is finally coming to a close tomorrow, but I thought a fun little game might help calm nerves while we’re all watching the results come in on Tuesday night. Introducing: Election Night 2016 Bingo!

Election Night 2016 Bingo

So here’s my plan for election night: put the kids to bed after dinner, grab a beer or a glass of wine (or get the husband to make up some cocktails), and sit down to watch the returns with my bingo board in hand. There are four different game boards, so you can play with a small group if you’re hosting an election night party with friends – or play twice with your significant other if it’s just the two of you. You can grab the printable bingo boards right here, print them out on letter size cover weight or text weight paper, then trim down to size using scissors or a paper trimmer. I printed mine on pastel card stock because that’s just how I roll these days!

Election Night 2016 Bingo

My version of Election Night 2016 Bingo is meant to be totally bipartisan so you can play along regardless of your political affiliation. I tried to incorporate words that you might hear from the pundits on any network, including the names of key swing states, election terms, policy terms, and keywords from some of the more recent election-related scandals (sigh) – all with a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor. Also, a big thanks to Courtney of Swiss Cottage Designs for the flag illustration for the center free space!

My husband said this is probably the nerdiest thing I’ve ever posted, but that’s okay with me. We’re lucky enough to live in a place where we get to choose our own leaders and help determine the kind of country we live in, and that’s something to celebrate. If you voted early, good for you! Otherwise, let’s all go vote tomorrow and play Election Night 2016 Bingo together in the evening!

Printable Party Favor Tags with My M&MS

My girls have birthdays coming up in September, and I have party planning on the brain! And when it comes to party favors, I’m always in favor of something edible – ideally chocolate. So today I’m partnering with My M&M’S to create three DIY party favors with their adorable personalized M&M’s, complete with printable party favor tags from Courtney of Swiss Cottage Designs! For the packaging, I combined two of my favorite things – anything iridescent and colorful vellum – to create three packaging options perfect for any occasion! So whether you’re planning a wedding or a bridal shower, baby shower or a birthday party, just pick your favorite printable tag and add some colorful M&M’s and you’ll be good to go! Oh, and keep reading below for a special discount from My M&M’S just for Oh So Beautiful Paper readers!

My M&M’S are the ideal personalized party favor. As a party guest, I always hope for something edible rather than a random personalized trinket, and who doesn’t like chocolate?? My M&M’S are completely customizable with photos or text, which means you can make them totally unique to your event. You don’t need graphic design skills to create the personalized M&M’s – just upload a photo or type in your selected text and My M&M’S will take care of the rest! I kept mine simple with short messages of “yay!” and “xoxo,” but I think it would be so sweet to include names for a wedding or bridal shower – or even a name and birthday for a kids birthday party!

I used three different size party favors, each with different printable party favor tags: a long and skinny rectangular candy box, a square favor box, and glassine envelopes. Courtney and I kept the favor tag designs fairly simple with cute hand lettered messages and sweet little illustrations that could work for a variety of occasions. The favor boxes are both clear so you can see a little glimpse of the My M&M’S inside, while the color of the My M&M’S peeks through the glassine envelopes to give a hint of what’s inside. My M&M’S are the perfect solution for DIY party favors and candy buffets, especially since you can choose your own colors! I used a color palette of pastels – pink, lavender, cream, and light blue – with a bit of aqua and dark green. With 25 colors to mix and match, you can find the right color combination for any event!

For the long rectangle favor boxes, I used strips of transparent vellum in our color palette of pink, purple, and aqua – they look so great against the My M&M’S! I also found positively DREAMY opalescent vellum and a white vellum with iridescent dots for just a little extra sparkle. I printed Courtney’s designs directly on the opalescent and iridescent vellum, cut the printed vellum into 2″ strips, and layered that over another 3″ strip of vellum in a complementary color.

I paired the square favor boxes with circle favor tags. For some favor boxes, I wrapped the boxes in 1″ strips of colorful vellum and sparkly iridescent twine. For other favor boxes, I wrapped the entire box in squares of iridescent cellophane and tied it up with sparkly twine. To turn the circle tags into gift tags, just print onto vellum and punch them out using a 1.5″ circle punch, then punch a 1/8″ hole for the twine. Or print the circle tags onto these labels and stick two labels together to create a tag!

I printed mostly black and white versions of the printable party favor tags, but I included some color versions in case you want to print them onto labels or white printer paper. Use full sheet labels for Little Wishes and cut down to 2″ wide, use these square labels for the Love is Sweet tags, and use these circle labels for the Best Day Ever tags. They’re all formatted in the appropriate templates for each label and ready to print! The color versions also look AMAZING printed onto the opalescent and iridescent vellum, I’m just saying.
