Tradeshow Bootcamp Giveaway!

Designers and stationers, this giveaway is for you!

If you’ve ever thought about exhibiting at a tradeshow like the New York International Gift Fair or the National Stationery Show, you definitely want to sign up for Tradeshow Bootcamp, an amazing series of teleconference workshops organized by Katie from Kelp Designs.  Tradeshow Bootcamp covers everything you need to know before exhibiting at a major tradeshow, from booth logistics to pricing and product issues.  Back in March I had the honor of participating in the marketing and PR workshop, and I’m looking forward to talking with a whole new group of people in a couple of weeks!

You can still sign up for the remaining workshops right here, but today I have the pleasure of giving away one spot for the marketing workshop on October 13!  This workshop is your chance to ask any question you can think of about how to promote your collection before and during the show and get lots of foot traffic into your booth.

To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment below with any burning questions you might have about tradeshow marketing and promotion.  You’ll have until midnight EST on Sunday, October 2 to enter the giveaway.  Bonne chance!

Congratulations to commenter #14 – Chelsey!  We’ll be in touch with your registration info soon!

UPDATE: Hi Everyone!  Some of you are submitting some fabulous product and logistics-related questions, so I just want to be clear that this giveaway is for the Marketing and PR workshop ONLY.  If you have questions about product collections or logistics and booth set up, please register for those specific workshops right here!

Danielle + Paul’s Vintage-Inspired Marquee Halloween Wedding Invitations

It’s always a good day when an invitation from Kate at Wit + Delight shows up in my inbox.  Kate sent over these fabulous custom invitations that she designed for a wedding taking place on Halloween.  Danielle and Paul’s wedding reception will include a masquerade, so Kate designed an invitation inspired by the concept of a 1920s marquee and incorporating Danielle and Paul’s color palette of cream, gray, and pumpkin!

From Kate: The wedding is taking place on October 31st in the ruins of a historic factory called the Mill City Ruins, which is equal parts elegant and mysterious.  Paul and Danielle have done a great job balancing the intrigue and liveliness of Halloween without feeling kooky, or costume-y.  Their palette is mostly creams and grays, with a pop of pumpkin.

The entire evening is filled with non-traditional details – like a masquerade! – and Danielle really loved the idea of invitations inspired by a vintage marquee.  We incorporated eclectic typography and ornate shapes to reference the 1920s era.  The invitations were printed by Evolutionary Press on thick cotton stock that gives the design a really great texture.

Thanks Kate!

Elizabeth + John’s Classic Calligraphy Wedding Invitations

I’m having one of those days where I just keep repeating the phrase “Serenity Now” over and over and over, so I’m in dire need of something classic and undeniably pretty to help me get through the day.  Erin from Arboreal sent over these beautiful and classic wedding invitations that she created for the Tennessee wedding of recent clients Elizabeth (aka Biz) and JP.  Erin incorporated calligraphy by Barbara Thomas and simple design elements to create these elegant invitations.

From Erin: To set the tone of the wedding, Biz and JP asked me to create a simple and classic invitation with hand written calligraphy.  The wedding suite was letterpress printed in charcoal ink on textured ivory paper with rounded edges and finished with a matching lined envelope.

Erin also sent over a couple of images from Biz and JP’s wedding, courtesy of Justin Wright Photography – so gorgeous!  You can see a few more images over on Erin’s blog right here.

Congratulations Biz and JP!

Happy Friday everyone – and happy first day of Fall!  But seriously, how is it almost the end of September already?  Time is seriously starting to fly!  Do you all have interesting plans for this weekend?  My agenda this weekend is happily low key; hanging out with friends, a few fun errands, and a movie with the husband.  My favorite kind of weekend.  But in the meantime…

Camille + Andrew’s Red Chevron and Linen Wedding Invitations

I thought I would help kick off the last day of the week with something bright and bold – and these red chevron stripe wedding invitations from Nathalie at 120 Water Street definitely fit the bill!  Nathalie mixed the bold red pattern with a linen belly band and stitched verse card to bring texture into the playful and modern invitation suite.

From Nathalie: This invitation suite was inspired by the bride’s love of color, pattern, and texture.  When she first contacted me, she hadn’t picked her color palette but knew she wanted something bold and non-traditional.  I sent her a few playful combinations of different colors and patterns, and she quickly picked mustard and red.

We digitally printed the invitations, then created a pretty belly band with linen to add texture.  When we settled on the chevron pattern we decided it would be fun to zigzag sew the Louis Armstrong verse card to the belly band.  I think the linen does a great job of slightly softening the pattern without overpowering it!

Thanks Nathalie!
