{happy weekend!}

This weekend feels like the last weekend of summer – I know we still have a few weeks before Fall officially arrives, but the sun is setting earlier every evening and it’s definitely getting cooler.  Another sign that Fall is approaching?  2011 calendars.  They were everywhere at the Gift Fair and I’m starting to see some pop up online.  If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you know that I do big calendar round-ups each year, and I’m looking forward to continuing the tradition this September.  Designers, if you’d like to submit your calendar for this year’s round-ups, just shoot me an e-mail with photos right here!  But in the meantime…

And in case you missed anything, a summary of this week’s posts:

That’s it for me this week – I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you all back here on Monday!

NSS Bound – Sycamore Street Press

Although it's hard for me to pinpoint just one favorite part of the Stationery Show, getting a sneak peek at all of next year's calendars definitely ranks pretty high on my list!  So I was pretty excited when Eva from Sycamore Street Press sent over a quick peek at their 2011 calendar and new card collection – featuring foxes and other wildlife inspired by the area around her home in Utah:

In addition to making their official debut at the Stationery Show, Eva tells me that the new wildlife cards will be available in the Sycamore Street Press shop next week.  Thanks Eva!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  We're having an unexpected spell of warm(ish) winter weather here in DC, which has me so totally excited for the weekend!  We'll be busy packing, packing, packing – but hopefully we'll manage to spend a bit of time outdoors as well.  I'm also already looking forward to next week, since that's the week of the Altitude Design Summit.  Yay!  I really can't wait.  But in the meantime…

Summer-afternoon

That's about it for me this week!  Next week I'll be starting my Valentine's Day card round-ups before running off to Salt Lake City.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back here next week!

Tea Towel Calendar + Seasonal Recipes

Claudia-pearson-calendars

You may remember these food-inspired calendars by Claudia Pearson from my calendar round-ups a few months back, but I was so excited to learn that there is also a 12-month tea towel version!

Also very exciting — starting today, Claudia and chef Sung Uni Lee will be publishing a new seasonal recipe every two weeks over on Claudia's blog.  Each recipe will be accompanied by one of Claudia's illustrations, as well as nutritional information about the recipe.  I'll definitely be checking out Claudia's blog for seasonal cooking ideas!  In the meantime, you can find both the paper and fabric version's of Claudia's calendar right here.

Wiley Valentine Letterpress Mini-Calendar

Most of the calendars that I featured in my last round-up were large poster-style calendars, but this cute mini-calendar from Wiley Valentine is just the opposite!  With all twelve months printed on a 5.5 x 8.5" sheet of thick cotton paper, these little calendars are perfect for hanging on an office wall or putting up next to your front door for easy reference:

Did I mention how cute these calendars are?  Letterpress printed in 3 colors, each calendar features owls, insects and other little flying animals scattered throughout a vintage ornamental background pattern.  And at only $4.50, these calendars are bound to sell out quickly, so get yours while you can right here.
