Watercolor Wedding Map

I love custom maps for wedding invitations, but sometimes they can fall a bit too far on the cartoonish side.  Luckily, this hand drawn map from Courtney at Swiss Cottage Designs strikes the perfect balance of modern and whimsical.  Courtney created this gorgeous custom map of Boston Harbor for a recent bride – I love the watercolor details and hand lettering!

Christina’s Bridal Shower and Engagement Party Invitations

I don’t often have the opportunity to feature either engagement party invitations or bridal shower invitations, so when Rachelle from Wiley Valentine sent these over as part of Christina and Trevor’s rock n’ roll wedding invitation suite, I thought they deserved a post all of their own!  Rachelle carried the rock n’ roll theme through with the type choices and banner details on the bridal shower invitation:

I love the delicate patterns in the engagement party invitations, also letterpress printed by Michael at Czar Press:

Love Letter-Inspired Wedding Invitations

Kate from Ruby & Willow designed these wedding invitations for a bride from North America marrying a New Zealander, and the entire invitation is so incredibly romantic I can barely stand it.  The design was inspired by old fashioned love letters and features the wording from their wedding song on the belly band and tag around the invitation and rsvp postcard.

I love the way Kate incorporates some texture into the invitation – the strip of fabric and striped twine are a perfect touch!

Loving those pops of red in an otherwise neutral color palette, not to mention the beautiful vintage postage stamps against a dramatic black envelope!

So, so gorgeous, and of course incredibly romantic.  Just stunning Kate – thank you so much for sharing these invitations!

{happy weekend!}

Wow, this has been a FULL week – but between the launch of United With Love and a fantastic week here on Oh So Beautiful Paper, it’s been a GREAT week.  But I’m also super excited for the weekend; tonight we’re going up to Baltimore to see Wolf Parade!  Later this weekend I’m planning to swing by the Book Arts Fair at Pyramid Atlantic in Silver Spring and re-tackle the great office clean-out of 2010.  But in the meantime…

And just for this week, a quick round-up of this week’s posts on United With Love:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  I’ll be back next week with more calendars, wedding invitations, and a new holiday card giveaway!  See you all back here on Monday!

Demi + Vincent’s Victorian Vineyard Wedding Invitations

Victorian and vineyard aren’t words that usually go together, but in the case of this wedding invitation from Dingbat Press, they definitely do!  Adrienne from Dingbat Press created these invitations for a bride who wanted something a bit different for her vineyard wedding, while still reflecting the elegance of the wedding style and venue.

From Adrienne:  With the wedding venue located in a beautiful vineyard in California, Demi wanted to tie in the feeling of the location without going overboard on a vineyard cliché.  These invitations were designed based off of a vintage monogram found in a victorian-era story-book and then adapted with her initial and simple typography so as to not compete with the ornate monogram.

The invitations were letterpress printed on 110# cotton paper in chocolate and sage green, along with an rsvp card and a directions enclosure card.

So pretty!  Thank you so much Adrienne!
