Wedding Invitations from Printerette Press

I had the pleasure of meeting Catherine from Printerette Press when she made her trade show debut at last year’s Stationery Show – and it has been so much fun watching her collection grow over the past year!  I can’t wait to see Catherine’s new cards in a few days (Booth 2056), but today I’m completely smitten with the brand new Printerette Press wedding invitation collection debuting at the show this weekend!  The new collection features Catherine’s signature whimsical design style, from hand lettering and illustrated details to watercolor elements, all letterpress printed on soft cotton paper.

So pretty!  Congrats Catherine!

Stationery Show Sneak Peek: Fig. 2 Design Studio

I can’t help but feel an enormous sense of DC area pride when it comes to this next sneak peek designer – Claudia from Fig. 2 Design Studio!  Claudia made a big splash during her NSS debut last year with neon greeting cards, whimsical gift tags, and gorgeous wedding invitations, and I’m sure she’s going to knock it out of the park again this year.  Claudia is adding three new designs to her two wedding albums, Fresh and Felicity, and today she’s sharing a peek into the new Fresh album designs!  Each reflect Claudia’s fun and festive aesthetic, from bright neon typography to fun stripes and copper foil-stamped confetti.

Thanks Claudia!

Lorie + David’s Gold Steampunk Letterpress Wedding Invitations

I love it when wedding invitation suites combine mixed materials!  Emily and Dianna from Fourth Year Studio created these invitations for a couple planning a wedding at an historic theatre followed by a coffee house reception.  The gold ink and subtle lace blind impression letterpress pattern are perfect for a vintage-inspired wedding, while the brown paper outer envelopes help the overall suite from being too formal.

From Emily and Dianna: David and Lorie were married at the Bijou Theatre and held their wedding reception at a local coffee shop.  The rich colors and textures of the theater lead to a steampunk theme that carried its way through the wedding and reception.

It was important that the invitations be rich and intriguing without being overly fussy.  A vellum inner envelope was sealed with red wax to introduce another layer of texture and depth.  A subtle lace pattern was pressed into the creamy cotton stock framing the gold letterpress printed text.

A brown paper bag served as the outer envelope and was sealed with gold striped washi tape.  Each address was typed using a vintage typewriter.

It’s Mother’s Day weekend!  Do any of you have fun plans to celebrate – either with your moms or your own children?  Between preparations for the Stationery Show and baby-related projects our to do list is a mile long (and growing…), so I’m looking forward to having some time this weekend to catch up on everything.  But in the meantime…

Rena + Michael’s Semi-Formal Handkerchief Wedding Invitations

I’ll always be a fan of handkerchief wedding invitations, and for this semi-formal wedding they really couldn’t be more perfect!  Created by the team at Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence, Rena and Michael’s invitation suite combines a classic black and white handkerchief invitation with a letterpress chipboard reception card and vintage rsvp postcard.  Just gorgeous!

From Erin at Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence: Rena is an attorney who left the big city life in Chicago to be with Michael and his 2 boys on their Ohio farm where they truly live farm to table, raising their own food.  They are having a semi-formal wedding at a stately club, but the rest of the weekend is going to be at their home on a beautiful rustic 25 acre gentleman’s farm.  They want the weekend celebrations to be casual and gracious — a family style gathering.  The suite combines screen printed handkerchiefs, letterpress on cotton paper, vintage botanical illustrations for envelope liners, address calligraphy by Holland Wilson, and vintage postcards bundled with twine.

Thanks so much Erin!
