Rustic Hand Lettered Wedding Invitations

I love the mix of elegant and nature-inspiredÂ details in these rustic hand lettered wedding invitations from Kim atÂ Bright Room StudioÂ â€“ from the burgundy website tag and envelope calligraphy to the leather cord and kraft paper welcome reception invitation! So beautiful and perfect for a fall wedding!

FromÂ Kim:Â I loved creating this invitation suite for Adam and Lauren. Together we created what I think is the perfect mix of rustic and elegant. We kept the suite neutral with a small red accent on their website tag.

Everything in the suite was lettered by hand, giving it a casual feeling, but the double-thick paper, leather cord wrap, and vintage stamps made it all feel really special (the leather cord also made it smell amazing!). The kraft paper for the welcome dinner was a perfect way to set that piece apart, while still making it feel like it coordinated with the whole suite.

I was also lucky enough to design a modern Ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) for Adam and Lauren. Their promises to each other were hand lettered and surrounded by simple vines and then screen printed with gold ink on to a beautiful cotton paper. They signed it on their wedding day!

Romantic Modern Blush and Gold Wedding Invitations

I don’t often see wedding invitations that manage to be both modern and feminine â€“ but if anyone can pull it off, it’s Ellie from Hello Tenfold! For the Clara suite from her brand new wedding invitation collection,Â Ellie went for it with a feminine color palette of blush taupe and gold combined with some of Hello Tenfold’s signature patterns throughout the suite. So pretty!

From Ellie:Â The first thing I designed for this suite was the save the date pattern, which morphed into the pattern for the envelope liner, was used again at a much bigger scale for the detail card, and then I used the same motif to create a delicate border for the invitation and menu. Combined with some dots, the motif shows up again on the reply card and thank you card. I love taking a few simple elements and expanding upon them throughout an entire stationery suite. This suite features one of my favorite color schemes: blush pink, taupe, and gold. The cotton ribbon and hang tag pull it all together!

Gold Quilled Wedding Anniversary Certificate

I’ve had the pleasure of featuring several of Ann Martin‘s beautiful quilled wedding keepsakes over the years â€“ from ketubahs to framed wedding invitations. Today I have the privilege of sharing a gold and white marriage certificate that Ann created to celebrate a 15th wedding anniversary!

From Ann:Â Quilling is the art of rolling narrow strips of paper to create a variety of shaped coils and scrolls. The technique dates back hundreds of years and has changed very little with the passage of time.Â For this certificate, the couple’s 15th anniversary is coming up in April. As a celebration of the occasion, I was asked to create a design based on their wedding invitation. Calligrapher Riva Brown of Living Letters Studio did the lettering. She used shimmering gold gouache for the names and also the first letter of each vow.

All of the quilling was done with gilded-edge gold and white quilling paper. The bride carried lilies in her bouquet, so she asked me to include them in the design. I used metallic gold paper to make sculptured peace lilies. The certificate is 15 x 22 inches, about half the size of the Quaker marriage certificates Riva and I often collaborate on, as they require additional space for guest signature lines. A marriage certificate can also function as an alternative guest book that can later be framed as a reminder of the day.

Valentine’s Day Dinner Party Invitations

I’m not a huge fan of the traditional chocolate and roses approach to Valentine’s Day (a pretty card is more than enough for me, please and thank you) â€“ but a Valentine’s Day dinner party with friends? I can totally get behind that idea! Luckily for us, Lana from Lana’s Shop sent over some beautiful hand lettered and illustrated paper goods that she created to help inspire a Valentine’s Day soirÃ©e!

From Lana: Valentineâ€™s Day is typically a holiday reserved for two. But who says that it has to be? Instead of celebrating just with your special someone, why not invite invite other couples and make it a party?

To set the whimsical and intimate tone of the celebration, IÂ hand-lettered each invitation. The wording formed the shape of a heart and was painted directly onto luxe 130lb arches watercolor paper. I paired the invitations with a playful illustrated arrow envelope liner. Each envelope was then sealed with coordinating custom address labels.

Each guestÂ was given a mini â€˜I Love you cardâ€™ to share with someone special. Other paper items included hand lettered and illustrated menus, straw flags and a love quote chalk board sign.Â We loved this one of a kind, personal soirÃ©e!
