Adrienne + Josh’s Tiffany Blue Calligraphy Wedding Invitations

I’m always a fan of wedding invitations with calligraphy, and even more so when a designer pairs calligraphy with a gorgeous color palette like Tiffany blue and coral pink!  Designer and calligrapher Holly Hollon created these classic wedding invitations, incorporating her calligraphy throughout the suite – from the names of the bride and groom to whimsical

From Holly:  Adrienne’s wedding theme was inspired by Tiffany’s.  She loves the Tiffany blue color and all her flowers we going to be shades of pink.  I used lots of the blue and pink as an accent for her paper.

She loves calligraphy, so I did their names in calligraphy and the rest of the type was neatly blocked off for a more modern and clean feel.  A wedding logo was created with a small whimsy doodle and a block font to tie back to the design of the invitation.

Alison + Nick’s Whimsical Screen Printed Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone!  I’ve had the pleasure of featuring some of the illustrated nautical wedding invitations from Diane at Faye + Co., and I’m thrilled to be starting the week with this whimsical invitation suite.  I’m loving the bold color palette featuring orange ink screen printed on navy paper – and of course Diane’s gorgeous lettering!

From Diane: This wedding invitation suite uses hand-drawn lettering and a touch of floral graphics on the envelope liner.  Alison and Nick wanted something unique to fit the style of their celebration.  The invitation and rsvp card  were screen printed using gray and orange inks on navy blue stock.

The envelopes were coordinated with the rest of the invitation suite.  The outer envelopes feature hand lettering in white and orange ink along with vintage postage that we sourced online.

Color Inspiration: Vintage Red, White, + Blue

Hi everyone! Annemarie here from Scout’s Honor Co. I am thrilled to be guest blogging this week while Nole is on maternity leave (congrats, Nole!). Let’s start off with some color inspiration. I recently picked up the vintage stamps and mail stickers below… I love how the deep red + navy tones pop against the aged paper. Add some kraft to the mix and you’ll warm up the palette even more (and ensure it does not skew too 4th of July!). Below are a few of my favorite supplies from around the studio, along with a full list of shopping resources.

Calligraphy Inspiration: Hazel Wonderland

I’m really excited to share the work of this month’s calligrapher. I first saw her work via Instagram, which lead me to her website. Her work resonated with me as I kept coming back. I’m talking about the work of Meredith C. Bullock of Hazel Wonderland. Her first commissioned calligraphy job was at the young age of 16; not to say she’s old, but she’s been doing this for a while, and it shows! She’s definitely a person who adores making weddings beautiful, as she also operates The Brides Hairstylist. On top of that, Meredith is talented artist. (Peeks of her work are available on Instagram.) It’s as clear as day that her artistry transfers to her calligraphy, as well. – Julie

Hazel Wonderland kraft invitation suite

I adore this suite of kraft, white, and blue. It has the warmth of wood in autumn with the cool tones of a dark winter’s night. Perfect for weddings of those seasons.

The ebb and flow of her lines floor me. I get lost following them to and fro. I’m not sure how something can be so elegant and laid back at the same time, but it’s a feeling she’s achieved with ease in her work.

Hazel Wonderland’s shop is closed this week, as Meredith is preparing for an exhibition, but don’t fret! She’s giving everyone a thank you for their patience and offering 20% off your entire purchase upon reopening this Saturday! To redeem, use coupon code “EXHIBIT” at checkout after Sept 8, 2012. It’s a limited time offer so I suggest you take advantage. To view some of her items in the meantime, simply visit her Pinterest board.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  It was a beautiful week here in DC, and a few days below 90 degrees has me really looking forward to cooler fall days in just a few weeks.  We also had a busy week of baby preparations, from taking a birth class to scheduling consultations with prospective pediatricians, and with so much information to process and things to think about it has been easy to feel overwhelmed.  We’re slowly starting to feel more and more prepared – as much as we can for first time parents!  But in the meantime…
