Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Die-Cutting

I’m making you think outside of the box, quite literally, today! You can easily add an extra layer of interest and dimension to your day-of wedding stationery with unique die cut shapes. Die cutting can be used to create a geometric statement with your place cards or to add an intricate border to your menu cards. The process can also be used to cut out a shape within your paper goods, making a perfectly refreshing wedding monogram, for example. I’m positive this technique can be applied to just about any wedding style or theme, be it a rustic fall soiree (think leaves and natural motifs) or a modern loft affair (read: crisp lines and bold silhouettes)! — Kelly

Wedding Stationery Inspiraton: Geometric

Have you noticed the recent spike in geometric patterns, popping up everywhere from pillows to pants to wedding invitations? The triangle seems to be leading the way but I’m not discriminating, so today I’m talking all about geometric shapes and patterns for your day-of wedding stationery! If modern is your thing, you may already have graphic fonts or bold colors in the works, and a geometric addition could be the finishing touch you’ve been looking for. I am seriously loving those triangle seating charts, and that 3-D table number!? Who said your paper products ever had to remain two dimensional? — Kelly

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Stitched + Embroidered

Why stop with a hand crafted wedding when you can have a hand stitched wedding too!?  The needle and thread is no longer relegated to repairing holes and finishing pillows: you or your stationer can break it out to add a little something extra to your day-of wedding paper goods.  Embroidered and stitched elements works beautifully on both fabric and paper, so go ahead and have your programs sewn up or your place cards cross stitched!  Have each guest make a quick stitch on a map to mark their hometown for a guest book or sew your embroidered table numbers together, post-event, to make an heirloom quilt… your very own little stitch in time. — Kelly

{happy weekend!}

Well folks, the big weekend is finally here – the National Stationery Show starts on Sunday!  Tomorrow morning I jump on the train to New York and I can’t wait to immerse myself in stationery heaven for three and a half days.  I’ve got a couple more sneak peeks for you tomorrow before the actual show kicks off on Sunday, and I’ll do my best to start the show recaps on Monday!  But in the meantime…

That’s it for now – have a wonderful weekend everyone! xoxo

Inspired by: Metallics!

Everything still feels all shiny and new this early in the year, so I today thought it would be fun to continue my love for all things metallic.  We already know that I’m crazy for anything with gold foil, but my metallic affections extend way beyond gold.  Silver, copper, brass are just as beautiful – particularly when mixed together!

No. 1 Metallic wedding invitations from Bella Figura; No. 2 Sugar Paper; No. 3 Oh Joy! Petal Pusher wallpaper from Hygge & West; No. 4 Metallic escort cards via Martha Stewart Weddings; No. 5 Yellow Owl Workshop; No. 6 Knot & Bow; No. 7 Brides.com

I also love these metallic prints from Enormous Champion – silver and gold letterpress printed skeleton keys and a beautiful gold foil print on dark navy paper.
