Navy Blue Calligraphy Elopement Celebration Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! And happy first official day of Summer! We’re starting the week with these gorgeous navy blue calligraphy elopement celebration invitations from Victoria at Design House of Moira, which feature Victoria’s beautiful calligraphy on equally stunning raw edge cotton paper. And that tagline:Â we fell in love, so we ran away. Utterly romantic and soÂ perfect for an elopement celebration!

From Victoria:Â Working with Marina from Bustle Events, we designed this suite forÂ an elopement celebration, using the phrase â€œwe fell in love, so we ran awayâ€ as the theme. We really wanted to embrace the destination aspect of the celebration, tying in natural edges and shades of blue.

The invitation itself announces their elopement and invites guests to join them at the brideâ€™s parents home upon their return home. We really loved the idea of using paper with a raw edge and choose to go with handmade 100% cotton rag paper fromÂ Fabulous Fancy Pants. We paired the handmade paper with slooping brush lettering, and paired it with a formal serif font.

I also hand painted a large piece of artwork for the bride in monochromatic blues, and used that artwork to be printed as their envelope liners. Each invitation suite was wrapped in hand dyed, hand frayed silk ribbon and tucked into a crisp white cotton envelope.

The address calligraphy matched the same brush lettering throughout the suite, paired with vintage stamps in shades of blue. Each envelope was sealed with a white wax seal with calligraphy detail.

The cocktail menus were printed on the same 100% cotton rag paper and featured a â€œhis & hersâ€ signature cocktail. We also created a larger scale artwork piece of the quote we used in the suite featuring the couple’s wax seal.

Magic Theme Birthday Party Invitations

I’ve had the pleasure of featuring every single birthday party invitation for Lisa from Good on Paper‘s eldest son, Lucas â€“ and today Lisa is sharing Lucas’s SIXTH birthday party invitation. (Side note: whaaaaaat????) You can also see theÂ invitations from previous birthdays: 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. I love the way Lisa makes each invitation feel fresh and special without being overly cutesy. One year Lisa went with a hide and seek theme, and last year was a wild animal theme! This year, Lucas chose a magic theme for his birthday party, and for his magic theme birthday party invitations Lisa created a vintage-inspired designÂ with an old school magic feel. Lisa incorporated custom photo envelope liners, which have become a bit of a tradition for her boys’ birthday party invitations, and a custom rubber stamp that was used on the invitations and day-of party stationery!

From Lisa:Â Lucas decided on a magic theme for his 6th birthday party this year. I designed the invitations with a clean but slightly vintage feel, complete with custom photo envelope liners and a custom rubber stamp that was used on favor bags, dessert packaging for mochi ice cream, thank you cards, and our traditional donut hole cones. I stuck to a color scheme of black/white/red which reminded me of old school magic.The double thick invitations were mailed in kraft envelopes and sealed with wrap-around address labels.

NSS 2016 Sneak Peek: Bella Figura

For today’s NSS 2016 sneak peek, we’re getting a glimpse at the brandÂ new Flora Collection from Bella Figura! Bella Figura collaborated with photographerÂ Kate IgnatowskiÂ and Photosynthesis Floral DesignÂ to create these beautiful and romantic floral images, which are available as envelope liners and backgrounds for enclosure cards. Aren’t they so pretty when paired with some of Bella Figura‘s elegant calligraphy wedding invitation designs?

Also! For Stationery Show goers, Bella Figura calligrapherÂ Sarah Hanna will be in the Bella Figura booth (#1840) on Tuesday, May 17th calligraphing names and favorite phrases! And if you’re in New York City but won’t beÂ going to the show, you can catch a sneak peek of the Flora collection, along with a bit of on-the-spot calligraphy, at the Bella Figura flagship store at a special event with calligrapher Ted Clausen on Saturday, May 14th from 2-6 p.m.!Â The Bella Figura flagship store is located at 1031 Lexington Avenue (at 74th street) in New York City.

Galaxy-Inspired Graduation Announcements

Well, these are fun! Ashley of Ash Bush Lettering and Design sent over these galaxy-inspired graduation announcements, which feels like kind of the most perfect theme for a graduation. I mean, if the world is your oyster, why not the entire galaxy?? Ashley combined galaxy elements with her playful hand lettering, and of course galaxy envelope liners!

From Ashley:Â I’m in love with these galaxy graduation announcements I had the chance to create! They’re fun, modern, and unique. I started out making custom liners, each one was different! From there we decided on a smokey gray, metallic square envelope. The envelopes really drove the rest of the design â€“Â I wanted the announcements to balance and complement the envelopes, so I kept it light with just a splash of galaxy in the custom hand-lettering.

I also made a custom ink mixture of white with splashes of shimmer powder to add just a hint of shine to the envelope lettering. The overall feel of the suite’s lettering was brushy and messy with ink splatters everywhere to resemble stars. And of course we topped it off with the most fun vintage stamps we could find!

Romantic Swan-Inspired Wedding Invitations

I’m kiiiiinnnnnd of obsessed with swan motifs at the moment, so naturally I was super excited when these romantic swan-inspired wedding invitations from Nichole atÂ Coral PheasÂant showed up in my inbox! I love the way Nichole incorporated subtle swan details (inspired by the groom’s last name!) into this classic blush and gold invitation design, including a die cut details card and swan envelope liner!

FromÂ Nichole:Â Last year I had the pleasure of working with the magnificent florist Diane Gaudett, of Custom Floral Designs, and her daughter Jocelyn to create a custom wedding invitation suite for Jocelyn’s wedding. Truth be told, it more a family affair with Jocelyn’s fiancÃ©, Justin, and her sister being involved too! They all came to the first design meeting, each contributing and offering ideas that were built upon during the design process.

The vision for the wedding was a super romantic affair with lush florals, crystal chandeliers and luxe linens to be held at the Lace Factory in Deep River, Connecticut. Those details and the darling last name of the groom (Swann!) were the driving bits of inspiration for the suite.

The invitation itself is completely typeset in a script full of romantic flourishes, set at a slight angle and is letterpress printed on double-thick Crane’s Lettra. While the language on the invitation is traditional, playful wording is used on the response card.

My favorite part of the suite is the die cut details card that features a swan with outstretched wings. Seriously, could the groom’s surname be any more fitting for a wedding?! Swans mate for life and are symbols of elegance and beauty. The swan reference is repeated on the patterned envelope liners and again on the custom postage stamp. Blush envelopes bring a hint of color to the palette and calligraphy byÂ Graceline complete the suite.
