Jillian + Lee’s Travel-Inspired Airmail Wedding Invitations

After many years as a long distance couple, Jillian and Lee worked with designer Christine Loo of Heritage + Joy to create a travel-inspired wedding invitation suite with airmail details. Christine also incorporated Jillian and Lee’s color palette of cream, soft pink, and navy blue and elegant script fonts to complement their castle (!!) wedding venue. So lovely!

From Christine: Jillian and Lee were married this past May at the beautiful Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York. They decided to go with a travel theme to reflect the nature of their long distance relationship. She is originally from New York, he from the United Kingdom. Over the years, they had travelled many miles to see each other and spend time together, from London to New York to Paris. Lee even proposed on a special trip to St. Lucia!

Jillian and Lee chose a beautiful color palette for their castle wedding â€” soft pinks and creams for their flowers, and long navy dresses for the bridesmaids. We worked together to design a wedding invitation suite that was modern, soft, with just a hint of vintage flair to reflect handwritten letters.

I created different variations of passport stamps that we incorporated into the suite that reflected some of the different locations they had travelled to. The suite was printed on soft white paper and inserted into navy inner envelopes before going into outer envelopes, giving them just the right elegant touch.

Peter + Kristy’s Rustic Letterpress Wedding Invitations

You may remember Peter and Kristy’s fantastic die cut save the dates from back in March â€“ and today PeterÂ is back to share the wedding invitations! Peter and Kristy wanted to honor the rustic and romantic feel of their barn wedding venue. They opted for blue and white wedding invitations letterpress printed byÂ Twig & Fig, along with kraft paper and rubber stamp accents. I love the way the entire suite came together!

From Peter:Â We went for a rustic but fun look: the wedding was at a winery with a rustic red barn and we wanted to capture the old fashioned but romantic look. We had a lot of fun playing around with fonts and different ways to give the text depth. We’re just really happy with how they turned out and that we were able to do most of the work ourselves.

The main invitation was letterpress printed atÂ Twig & FigÂ on 220lb letterpress paper.Â The RSVP, map, rehearsal dinner invitation, and envelopes were printed at home on kraft paper and 110lb letterpress paper.

We made our own belly bands and stamped them with a custom stamp and then tied it all together with navy and white butchers twine. Â My mother had a shoe box full of old unused postage so we got to be creative with stamps as well. We used rubber number stamps on the RSVP card to indicate how many seats we had reserved for each party.

James + Sona’s Modern Colorful Wedding Invitations

I’m loving the bright and bold color in these wedding invitations from designer Rashi Birla! Rashi drew inspiration from the respective cultures of the bride and groom â€“ Indian and Guyanese â€“ and the vibrant color palette of orange and magenta. The final design is absolutely stunning!

From Rashi:Â Sona and James wanted an invitation that was able to fuse together their individual cultures (Indian and Guyanese) but still felt very modern and clean. The main colors they wanted to use were orange and magenta. Since the orange and pink are pretty feminine, I chose to add navy blue as a complimentary color.

Small hits of this more masculine color helped ground and balance the invitation. The final suite had the main invitation, an RSVP card accompanied with a magenta envelope, and a double sided information card. I packaged the suite together with a navy blue belly band and a navy blue outer envelope.

Jessica + George’s Travel-Inspired Maine Wedding Invitations

Ummm… how did an entire year go by without featuring one of the gorgeous wedding invitations from Sarah of Parrott Design Studio?!?! Luckily, we’re remedying this situation today, with a travel-inspired invitation suite for a couple with a fondness for Maine. The invitation suite features cute lobster details (naturally), white engraved text on navy envelopes, and fun airmail details on the rsvp postcard. So pretty!

From Sarah: This custom designed invitation suite was created for a fun couple getting married at Bowdoin College with a passion for travel and love of Maine. They wanted a design that reflected who they are and what they love, and that all started with Maine. Jessy and George met at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.Â In 2012, George proposed on Bailey Island, Maine, one of their favorite spots. Over the past eight years they have traveled to 21 different countries together. And they visited another 12 on their honeymoon!

I used a mix of typography throughout the suite to play up the fun, laid-back vibe Jessy and George wanted to create for the guests, most of which were traveling from all over the world to be in Maine to celebrate with them.

We had fun with the map and included both their ceremony and reception sites, along with the spot where George proposed. Helpful bits of information like transportation and their wedding website were included as well.

The invitation and map were letterpress printed by hand on our antique press (1898) in navy blue and red inks on thick 134# cotton paper in light pink.Â The RSVP postcard and mini cocktail invite were digitally printed.

The first thing Jessy knew she wanted was a vintage-style postcard for the RSVP.Â She chose a lobster one from my collection and we began to design the suite around it.Â We used two small lobsters and heart throughout the suite printed in a bright pop of red.

The outer envelope and belly band were engraved with white ink on navy blue. To finish the suite we had custom stamps made by Zazzle featuring the lobster image and another vintage image of Portland Head Light.

Spence’s Modern Blue + Kraft Paper Birth Announcement

These modern baby boy birth announcements from Brianna at Collected show that clean and simple can still be incredibly sweet and beautiful. The double-sided layout features all the essential details on one side and a photo on the other. I love the way the navy and kraft paper color palette highlights Spence’s gorgeous baby blue eyes!

From Brianna:Â I was so happy when Brooke contacted me about these birth announcements. She Â didn’t want anything babyish and wanted to keep them modern and simple, which of course is music to my designer ears. While we kept the design of the announcement relatively simple, I think the kraft petal envelopes add an element of sweetness and fun.
