{happy weekend!}

You know how some weeks are just harder than others?  This has been a tough week for me, with a to-do list that feels like it’s getting longer by the minute and a rapidly dwindling energy level.  I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, drained, and a little burned out – and on top of all of that, over the last few days I also managed to come down with a bit of a cold.  Not a good combination!  I’m hoping to recharge a bit this weekend and start fresh next week.  But in the meantime…

Pink Birth Announcements for Baby Miriam!

You might remember Bonnie’s fantastic “bun in the oven” baby shower invitations from back in April (not to mention the super cute shower!).  Well, baby Miriam arrived back in June, and Bonnie is back to share Miriam’s birth announcements!

Bonnie paired a pink color palette with illustrated touches for her baby girl’s announcement.  Bonnie said that Miriam came into the world with big eyes and a little circular mouth, just like a little owl!  So of course the owl served as inspiration during the design process.

Too cute!  Thank you so much for sending these over Bonnie – and congratulations on your beautiful little girl!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s a glorious day here in DC, so I’m taking advantage of the slightly cooler air to run a few errands and enjoy the sunshine (while it lasts!).  It’s also apple season, which feels incredibly sudden since I feel like I was just out picking blackberries a few weekends ago, but I’m hoping to find some time to go apple picking over the next couple of weeks.  Hooray for Fall!  But in the meantime…

…and in case you missed it, a round-up of this week’s posts:

That’s it for me this week!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you all back here on Monday!

Tiger Theme Baby Shower Invitations

With quirky font choices and a bold color palette, these tiger-themed baby shower invitations are seriously cool.  Designed by Jason Gomez from Turnstyle Studio for his brother and sister-in-law, Jason drew inspiration from the nursery theme while also keeping in mind that both men and women would attend the baby shower (and taking it easy on the cuteness factor).  The result?  Crisp, modern, and totally fabulous!

From Jason: This was an a unique baby shower invitation as it was purely inspired by the baby’s nursery, which was itself designed and put together by my brother (who is also a graphic designer).

A lot of the character, color, and playfulness from the invitation was pulled from the tiger themed nursery that was created for the baby.

“Why the tiger?” you may wonder?  Well, the baby is going to be born during the year of the Tiger!

Since the baby shower was going to be a co-ed event, I wanted to keep a good balance of cuteness while also maintaining somewhat of a masculine feel to the invitation.

The invitation came together nicely, infusing a simple palette , a pop of color, and playful type selections.  It really conveyed the theme and overall aesthetic my brother Johann and his wife Jamee have set for the baby’s room.

Thanks so much Jason!  And a big congratulations to Johann and Jamee on the new baby!
