Romantic Blush and Gray Wedding Invitations

Ah, blush and gray. Such a timeless color combination! And so romantic. I actually think blush pink might be the most romantic color of all time – and it pairs well with pretty much any color in the rainbow and every single metallic known on Earth. Add in some gorgeous whimsical calligraphy from Brown Linen Design, elegant lace-inspired blind (no-ink) impression letterpress printed details, and perfectly coordinated vintage postage stamps, and you’ve got yourself a truly stunning invitation suite. Which is exactly what Nichole from Coral Pheasant did with these romantic blush and gray wedding invitations!

From Nichole: Erin and Taylor’s romantic and elegant invitation suite let guests know that this was a celebration not to be missed! Working hand-in-hand with Erin and Stacie Shea Events, we created these beautiful blush and gray wedding invitations with a fresh spin on classic elements.

On the main invitation, angled type and calligraphy by Brown Linen Design are framed with a floral border blind debossed on double thick Crane’s Lettra cotton paper. The thick cotton stock allows the blind impression to be deep and visually prominent – but in a subtle way. Blush envelopes with coordinating vintage stamps add a dash of color. The entire invitation suite was wrapped in delicate lace ribbon inspired by the bride’s gown and veil.

The day-of stationery and paper elements came full circle at the wedding and reception, with design details carried over to the programs, place cards, event signage, blanket wraps and foil stamped menus.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope it’s nice and sunny wherever you are. We received our first snowfall of the season here in DC and it’s still bitterly cold a couple of days later. I’m dreaming of warm soup and hot chocolate for the weekend! But in the meantime…

Julia + Vannie’s Illustrated Watercolor Save the Dates

If there’s one thing that just gets me every single time, it’s custom illustrations in wedding invitations and save the dates. Carrie from Pearly Gates Design sent over these beautiful save the dates that she created for a wedding in Texas, featuring watercolor illustrations of South Texas flora and fauna – and a fresh citrus garland!

From Carrie: Julia and Vannie got in touch with us to create a custom watercolor save the date to set the tone for their eclectic and genteel spring time wedding. My mother is an amazing watercolor artist, who first introduced me into the wonderful world of painting. It was fun to work side by side with her in creating these custom illustrations.

For the crest, we pulled elements from the groom’s South Texas roots. We also added in some citrus to tie into the spring season. The illustrations and text were all hand watercolored and the envelope was beautifully calligraphed by Tara Jones in coordinating teal calligraphy ink. The invitation was printed on a cotton textured paper complementing the bleeds and nuances of the watercolor.

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Gray and White

No matter what your interests are as you poke around the internet, I think there are some clear trends sprouting up everywhere. One of them being a shift back to the basics. Specifically color. I will say, even my own wardrobe has slowly become a sea of black and white. It’s definitely a simple way to make anything chic in an instant, from a tee and denim to an invitation suite. So I rounded up some of my favorite grey pieces that I think will last through the winter and stay a staple all year round. – Lauren

From Amanda: We created this invitation suite for a couple getting married in Scenic Big Sur. The bride wanted to capture the beautiful landscape scenery of Big Sur by incorporating custom watercolor imagery throughout her stationery set. The result is a beautifully crafted suite printed on natural kraft card stock.  This ultra rustic invitation suite features our signature wooden engraved cut outs with the couples initials engraved into the wood.  This set also has corresponding rsvp postcards, information cards, printed and lined envelopes, and program fans.
