{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Do you all have fun plans for the weekend?  Most of my friends are out of town this weekend, so it’s shaping up to be a rather boring weekend for me.  But that’s totally fine by me; I’m looking forward to catching up on some sleep and getting some things done around the house.  No matter what, I’m sure my weekend will involve many listens to this Belle & Sebastian song; I was kind of on the fence about the most recent album, but I can’t get this song out of my head!  But in the meantime…

That’s it for me this week!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you all back here on Monday! xoxo

Folk Art Inspired Birth Announcements for Baby Ingrid

I’m a longtime fan of Sycamore Street Press, particularly their Folk collection of cards and prints inspired by traditional Swedish folk art.  So when it came time for Eva and Kirk to create announcements for their own baby girl, I was thrilled to see that they incorporated folk art illustrations into the design.  I just love the combination of line illustrations with letterpress printing.  Such a sweet announcement for a beautiful baby girl!

Pretty Note Cards from Colleen Ellse

I’ve been following the work of Colleen from Craft Lovely for a long time (you might remember her pretty blue business cards from a couple of weeks ago or these awesome save the dates) – I’m a huge fan of her beautiful hand lettering and letterpress work.  Colleen recently launched her brand new portfolio site and online shop, and there are so many cute letterpress goodies!  I’m particularly loving the cute note cards and bibliophile gift sets, complete with bookmarks and book plates!

Summer Contest Series with Moontree Letterpress

Happy Monday everyone!  Today we’re kicking off a fun new series just for the summer.  For the last two years, Rebecca from Moontree Letterpress has hosted Monday contests on her blog, and this year we thought it would be fun to partner up and do them together.  Just a little something to help take your mind off the heat and bring a little fun to your morning.  So every Monday for the rest of the summer, you’ll have a chance to win pretty letterpress goodies from Moontree Letterpress!

Here’s how the contests will work:  Rebecca was inspired by a story about Ernest Hemingway – legend has it that Hemingway was in a bar one night when someone challenged him to write a six-word story.  His answer:  “For sale:  baby shoes, never worn.”  Rebecca really loved the idea, so now she’s challenging all of you to come up with your own six word stories, all based on a different theme each week.

This week’s theme is “Giving Thanks.”  The winner will receive 100 one-color letterpress business cards!  You’ll have until 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday to leave your entry in the comments below, then Rebecca will announce the winner on her blog on Wednesday!  And just in case you need some inspiration, you can check out these six word autobiographies.  Bonne chance!

p.s. Speaking of giveaways, my friend Bryn from Paperfinger is having a giveaway over on her blog.  But hurry, the giveaway ends today!

Floral Notecards from Laura Macchia

I have a weakness for anything with a floral pattern, so when Laura Macchia sent over some of the cards from her newest collection, I just couldn’t resist sharing them.  The pops of red and yellow are perfect for summer, and of course I love the floral and botanical illustrations and patterns.  So pretty!
