Kelli + Sam’s Illustrated Save the Dates

Illustrator and painter Kelli Murray Larson sent over her wedding stationery — both which of course feature her beautiful illustrations!  Naturally, I thought I’d start off with the Save the Dates!

I love Kelli’s fresh approach to a magnet Save the Date — a graphic black + white magnet featuring Kelli’s hand lettering and an illustration of a tree:

For the main Save the Date, Kelli started with this portrait drawing of herself + Sam:

And on the reverse side was a calendar to remind guests of the wedding date:

Beautiful Brand Identity

I just can't get over this gorgeous brand identity from Truly Smitten for floral design studio Vale of Enna.  From the elegant and unique die-cut shape to the soft green and gray color palette, the entire suite reminds me of blooming flowers in spring — perfect for a floral designer!

Garden Inspiration

As I mentioned on twitter earlier today, I’m thinking about trying to do a bit of gardening this spring and summer in the tiny yard in front of our house.  It’s a small area, with just some grass and a couple of trees at the moment, but I think it could be really pretty with a few flowers and shrubs.  This is the first time since living in DC that I’ve had a front yard, so I’m very much a novice gardener.  If you have any gardening resources (blogs, books, websites) that you can recommend, I’d very much appreciate it!

I’m thinking I’ll start off with something relatively low-maintenance, and I’d love to add in a few evergreen elements so that the yard isn’t completely bare next winter.  Any ideas?

A Modern Sugar Paper Baby Shower

Sugar Paper is a gorgeous luxury stationery studio in southern California helmed by co-founders Chelsea Shukov and Jamie Grobecker.  Chelsea is getting ready to welcome a baby in a week or so (congrats Chelsea!), so Jamie threw an incredibly sweet baby shower — and somehow managed to keep the whole thing a secret from Chelsea!

Check out the gorgeous letterpress die-cut baby shower invitations — the calligraphy was all done by LA-based calligrapher Lisa Holtzman:

Love these baby carriage coasters!  So perfect with the shower's yellow, black, and white color palette.

A Postcard Garden

Now this is pretty cool!  Inspired by papercuts and pop-up cards, Aimée from A Studio for Design has created the Postcarden — a pop-up post card that becomes a mini-garden for your desk or windowsill!  Postcarden currently comes in three models: botanical, city, and allotment:

Postcarden2
Postcarden6

Each Postcarden comes with a packet of cress seeds — just add water and watch the seeds grow!  Each mini-garden lasts about two weeks and the cress is fully edible.  Aimée is currently only distributing the Postcarden within the EU, but she has plans to expand to the U.S. and other areas soon!
