Vintage Airmail-Inspired Wedding Invitations

These gorgeous airmail-inspired wedding invitations come to us from Erin at Lucky Luxe. Erin’s bride and groom, Gabriella and Peter, were inspired by their shared love of travel.  Erin combined the vintage airmail design with the idea of a handwritten letter for an unbelievably gorgeous and completely romantic result!

From Erin: Gabriella was originally envisioning a vintage airline ticket suite as a nod to their love for travel.  I began to imagine something Hemingway inspired — love letters sent from around the globe, handwritten and imperfect, personal and cherished, with drips and puddles of fountain ink adorning the corners of each piece.

I love how the design includes the splotches and splatters of ink wells – all letterpress printed along with the invitation text – in keeping with the overall feel of an antique hand-written letter.

An airmail border was letterpress printed in red and blue on each envelope.  Beautiful calligraphy by Holland Wilson.

Erin lined each envelope with a print of a vintage map on beautiful linen paper.

Erin tells me that this is her favorite invitation suite that she’s ever designed at Lucky Luxe – and I completely agree!  Check out more from Erin right here and here!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you excited for the weekend?  I’ve got a long to-do list for this weekend (isn’t that always the case though?), but I know I’ll definitely be fitting in time to go to a movie with my husband.  He’s been waiting for this particular movie to come out all summer!  But in the meantime…

…a few links for your weekend!

And in case you missed it, a few favorite posts from this week!

That’s it for me this week!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

We’re almost at the end of another summer week, so what better way to help transition to the weekend than with these bright (and sunny!) red and orange letterpress baby shower invitations?

Miguel from Heavy Metal Letterpress created these baby shower invitations for his sister (congrats Katie!), stitching together the tops of two sheets of cotton paper for a playful design:

I’ll be back a bit later with my usual Friday round-up!
