January 2011 NYIGF, Part 2

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you ready for the weekend?  It’s been a busy (and tiring) week for me, so I’m definitely ready to wind down and relax over the weekend.  But first, I have a few more photos from this week’s International Gift Fair to share with you!   The Gift Fair is a big show, and the stationery component is on the small side, so I usually spend quite a bit of time gazing at pretty textiles – bedding, pillows, rugs, and other fun interior design pieces.  This year, I fell head over heels for the gorgeous fabric headboards at the John Robshaw booth:

Isn’t it pretty??  These headboards aren’t available commercially – yet – but I’m hoping they will be soon!

I also love these grosgrain ribbon Positano pillows from the Jonathan Adler booth (more photos from the August show here):

Blissliving Home had a cute collection of London-inspired bedding and textiles, including these rainy day pillows, a London cityscape duvet cover, and cute felt pillows:

Speaking of felt, Shine Labs makes the most gorgeous floral felt wall panels, which I think would be gorgeous as wedding ceremony backdrops!

Shine Labs also makes beautiful and intricate felt lamps:

I also stopped by the K Studio booth to check out the latest embroidered wall art and pillows:

The Gift Fair is also a wonderful place to spot pretty jewelry and metalwork.  These oxidized pieces are from London-based jeweler and silversmith Maya Selway:

Also from the UK, cute knit animals, tea towels, and cards from The Black Rabbit:

And last up, the Wild & Wolf booth had a whole table full of Rob Ryan goodies!  In addition to the mugs and plates that are already on my wish list, they had some vases, tote bags, notebooks, and even bunting that I’d never seen before but are available for purchase at Bodie and Fou:

Rob Ryan Valentines

Every year, papercut artist (and my personal favorite) Rob Ryan creates a gorgeous lasercut valentine art piece.  You can see last year’s lasercut valentine right here.  I actually have last year’s lasercut, and the photos just don’t do these beauties justice!  Here is this year’s edition:

I’m soooo tempted.  Available in Rob’s etsy shop right here!

Today I Love: Dark Interiors + Wedding Trends

Happy Monday everyone!  Are you all still here, or have you started to run off for the holidays already?  We leave for my in-laws house on Thursday, but I’ll be posting all week just in case you were wondering.  I always use the last couple of weeks of the year to get myself organized, and I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend updating my Pinterest page with some of my favorite inspiration from the last year.  I love looking back on the year to see what inspired me, from fantastic wedding invitations to wedding details to interiors.  So to start things off this morning, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite images:

This year I’ve been drawn to slightly darker interiors, although we’ll see if I start going back to peaceful whites and lighter tones now that the sun is setting at 4:30 every afternoon.  I absolutely adore the desk and wallpaper from the tour of Mr. Boddington’s Studio, and if there’s anything I’ve learned this year, it’s that darker walls can be beautiful with the right kind of light.

For weddings, I’m still just as in love with silhouettes as ever, but love seeing them done in an unexpected way – like the wedding cake above.  I also developed a serious crush on papel picado banners and quasi-industrial lighting for wedding receptions.

This has been a pretty incredible year for wedding invitations and I’m going to attempt a best-of round-up of my favorites next week, but these two invitations are high up on my list.  For the papercut invitation, artist Rob Ryan gave the bride permission to use his artwork for the invitation – so amazing!

One of my favorite quotes, made even more lovely with sweet embroidery.

There’s tons more where that came from, and you’re welcome to visit me over at Pinterest!

2011 Calendar Round-Up, Part 7

I know I said I was finished with the calendar round-ups, but it looks like those round-ups weren’t quite done with me.  I was expecting a handful of calendars before the end of the year, but there are enough to share that I’m going to do two extra round-ups!  Just as a reminder, you can find my previous round-ups right here… and now on to Part 7!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  As you all read this, I’ll be in the middle of a long drive with my husband to visit his family in upstate New York.  I’m not looking forward to the long drive up, but it’ll be nice to chase after our niece and nephew all weekend.  Before I head off, I’ll leave you with one last reminder to enter the holiday card giveaway from Satsuma Press – the contest closes tonight at midnight!  But in the meantime…

…a few links for your weekend!

And in case you missed it, a quick round-up of this week’s posts:

That’s it for me this week!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you all back here on Monday!
