These romantic, vintage-inspired destination wedding invitations from Melinda at Lion in the Sun appeal to me in every way possible. Â Travel-inspired details and a heady sense of wanderlust? Â Check! Â Quote from one of my favorite authors? Â Check! Â Beautiful map envelope liner and muted antique color palette? Â Check and check. Â Plus, y’all already know I have fond memories of Italy, so these invitations definitely bring out my sentimental side as well…
From Melinda: We created this invitation suite for Carrie who had a vision of classic vintage images and weathered maps for their wedding in a remote small village in Italy; the invitation design is romantic and playful, complete with a quote from the most romantic traveler: Hemingway.  David is an avid traveler to remote places and wanted to share his favorite Italian village with his friends and family for his wedding.
The reply card design was inspired by an old fashioned luggage tag and gave the unique option of “maybeâ€â€¦. Not something we had ever done before but we wanted to make sure everyone was welcome even if it was a last minute decision.  The liner was a replica of an old map of the region with the playful treasure map marking the spot….  The muted colors further inspired the vintage, weathered travel feel.
Melinda tells me that this invitation design will be added to the PostScript Brooklyn collection this fall. Â You can check out the full collection right here!
