James + Ashlynn’s Quirky Illustrated Portrait Wedding Invitations

How cute are these illustrated wedding invitations from Amanda at Wide Eyes Paper Co? Of course I’m a fan of the quirky portrait illustrations (based on photos of the couple) – but those wooden coaster save the dates? Such a great idea!

From Amanda: This quirky and whimsical invitation suite was designed for a couple looking to add a unique and personal flare to their wedding invitations. We drew a portrait of James and Ashlynn based on their photographs and incorporated the illustration into the invitation. Now that’s custom!

James and Ashlynn wanted to incorporate a phrase that seemed fitting to their love story. They chose “She likes stashes, and he likes glasses.” We incorporated this phrase in middle of their illustrations. This set features a wooden engraved coaster save the date, main invitation, rsvp card, along with an additional information card.

Lauren + Blake’s Modern Mint Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! For those of you who might be dragging a bit this morning thanks to the time change (like me!), I thought we’d start the week with these effervescent wedding invitations from Dejlige Creative (pronounced “dye-lee” – a Danish word meaning “lovely” or “delightful”). With champagne bubbles and antique gold details on mint green paper, this invitation suite is the perfect way to welcome spring!

From Stephanie: Lauren and Blake were looking for a breath of fresh air with clean and crisp mint green letterpress invitations for their classic spring wedding. Champagne bubbles dot the invitation cards and cleverly fill the european pointed flap envelopes. Accents of antique gold add a timeless touch to these modern, fresh invitations.

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! We started sleep training Alice this week out of sheer desperate need to regain a good night’s sleep. Please send happy thoughts that it clicks soon! Luckily I have a husband that knows how to mix a stiff drink – I have a feeling we’ll need a couple this weekend. But in the meantime…

Olga + Matt’s Burlap Destination Wedding Invitations

Sigh. Let’s all just run off to Santorini, okay? These beautiful burlap and wax seal destination wedding invitations from Jeannine of Blue Magpie have me completely sold!

From Jeannine: Olga came to me because she found and loved our burlap and silk invitations. With their handmade burlap pockets, silk ribbons, and raffia accents, she was really drawn to the slightly beachy but elegant feel, but Olga really wanted to tailor this invite to provide the perfect intro to their Greek destination wedding.

After discussing different ways to do this, we decided to create a custom olive branch wax seal as the focal point of her invitations. To further bring in a Greek flair, we tied on the wax seal with a beautiful light blue raffia.

The olive branch graphic reappears on the back, peeking out of the burlap pockets at the top of their response cards. The burlap pockets also hold a detailed itinerary of all the wonderful festivities the couple has planned for their fun-filled wedding weekend.

Shauna + Darrell’s Rustic Tea Towel Wedding Invitations

You might remember Shauna and Darrell’s amazing rustic wood etched save the dates for their summer barn wedding – and today Shauna is back to share her invitations! Based on her save the date, I wasn’t surprised to see that Shauna took a non-traditional approach to her wedding invitations, elevating an inexpensive Ikea kitchen towel into a wonderful wedding keepsake!

From Shauna: I didn’t want my invitations to be thrown in the garbage – and I wanted something people could use afterwards, like a keepsake.  So I bought one hundred Ikea tea towels and had my design printed on them using a flat-bed printer. I hired a talented illustrator, Kyle Metalf who helped me carry out my vision. The illustration acts like a map and shows a school bus (which we rented) taking our guests from Calgary to the small town of Okotoks.  It features all the buildings and landmarks on the farm where we go married. I am really happy with how it turned out!
