NYNOW Winter 2015, Part 2

Next up on our tour of the NYNOW winter market – stationery! Technically there isn’t a section of the show specifically devoted to stationery, but there is a large group of stationers located within a few rows of each other on the first floor of the show – so that’s what I’m focusing on here. I’m sure you’ll recognize some familiar faces here, and I’ve got more coming up a bit later today!

1. If you didn’t already catch the news on Instagram, Rifle Paper Co. is releasing it’s first-ever planner in 2016! There will be two floral cover options – dark and shades of blue (my personal favorite) – and plenty of interior pages for staying organized!

2. Angela Liguori’s beautiful cotton Italian ribbons make me completely weak in the knees. Angela just released a GORGEOUS new copper addition to her beautiful metallic line ribbons, joining the most lovely shades of loose weave metallic ribbon, black and white calligraphy ribbon, and her classic solid color ribbons.

3. A rainbow of letterpress city postcards from Albertine Press and new music-inspired additions to their letterpress library!

4. Beautiful birthday calendars from One Canoe Two – and they’re also planning to release a planner in 2016! There will be three different cover options, including the blue version seen here, all with gold foil cover text.

5. I’ve already professed my love for the new DIY Indigo textile kits from Yellow Owl Workshop – I was so excited to see them in person at the show!

I’ll be back in just a bit with more stationery from the show – for even more from NYNOW just search #OSBPatNYNOW on Instagram!

NYNOW Winter 2015, Part 1

A couple of weeks ago, I ventured up to New York for the winter NYNOW market – a large trade show with exhibitors showcasing everything from handmade ceramics and jewelry to furniture and home decor. I shared quite a bit of the show on Instagram, but wanted to highlight some favorites from each section of the show that I walked (including some photos that I took with my big camera when my phone battery died!). So to kick it all off a few favorites from the Handmade section of NYNOW!

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Brown Paper Bags

I’ve always had a soft spot for all things kraft paper and any lookalikes. Who knew there were so many ways you could incorporate it into your wedding beyond the expected favor bag?! Besides it being the perfect addition to almost any wedding style from shabby chic to modern, it’s easy on the wallet. Score. So, I did a little research to find out just how many ways brides and grooms are getting creative out there. Here are a few of my favorites. – Lauren

DIY Mini Cowhide Coasters

Coasters aren’t exactly the sexiest thing on the face of the earth, but I like to think there’s something a little provocative about today’s surprisingly easy tutorial. I’m using scrap leather (or vinyl) to create mini cowhide coasters – definitely worthy of your finest (and most sultry) cocktails. – Mandy Pellegrin

Step Three:  Add details and spots using black and brown permanent markers. Do a quick internet image search for “cowhide rugs” for inspiration. Begin by outlining your spots and blotches. Then fill them in with a small circular motion. Allow to dry, and apply a second coat if necessary.
