Egg Press Baby Announcements

Two of my closest friends are expecting their first child in a couple of months, and I'm so excited for them that I can't really help but have baby stationery on my own brain these days!  I'm so excited to see that Egg Press just released a new line of letterpress baby announcements, with a range of styles that can each be customized with different animal, pattern, format or color options:

Each style is equally adorable, although I'm partial to the pattern designs.  Check out the full collection right here!

Home Office Inspiration

There is a separate room in our new apartment that was billed as a 2nd bedroom, but which is really too small to be anything other than a home office.  We’re still getting things settled in the bedroom and living room, so the office is more of an overgrown storage closet at the moment.  Even though it’ll probably be a couple of weeks before I can really focus on getting that room together, I’ve been busy collecting inspiration and ideas.  I’m particularly loving the combination of dark walls with matchstick bamboo shades that Chelsea and Anne both recently featured:

As I mentioned, the room is pretty small and has only one window, so I do worry about dark walls making the room feel too cave-like, although as long as the room feels warm and cozy I think it would be okay.  Even if I chicken out on the dark walls, I think the matchstick shades would look pretty good with a lighter wall color, although not necessarily this robin’s egg blue:

Also on my list – find a new desk!  I’m hoping to get out of the city for a weekend at some point soon and go antique shopping in the hopes of finding the perfect piece!

Vintage Stamps + Envelopes

So if you're like me and love vintage stamps but either don't have the time to hunt around for them or just don't really know where to start, I'm guessing you'll love this shop from Whitney Rae:

Vintage-stamps-envelopes

Whitney collects vintage postage, then artfully arranges the stamps on colorful envelopes in ready-to-mail postage denominations.  Aren't her collections beautiful?

Looove that Voice of America stamp — one of my all time favorites!  Check out more of Whitney's vintage stamp arrangements right here.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so I'm going to head out a bit early and get a head start on the weekend.  We're hoping to visit the farmer's market in our new neighborhood for the first time (I'm dying to make this parmesan parsnip recipe!) and finally get rid of any remaining boxes in our apartment.  But in the meantime…

Also, if you haven't already heard, my friend Vané is organizing a fantastic wedding even in late March called Urban Wed.  Vané has pulled together a fantastic group of vendors, so if you're in the New York area, you should definitely check it out!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Calligraphy Wedding Vows

In honor of Valentine’s Day yesterday, I thought I’d start the week off with a sweetly romantic gift from a husband to his wife — a beautiful keepsake of their wedding vows created by calligrapher Elecia of Dancing Pen Calligraphy:

Elecia created this beautiful keepsake with white ink for the text and a couple of gold nautical-inspired illustrations on deep ocean blue paper to fit with the nautical theme of the wedding and the vows themselves.  Such a beautiful result!
