Business Card Ideas and Inspiration #5

I receive a bunch of fantastic submissions after my last business card post a couple of weeks ago – so it’s time for another round of business card inspiration!

These business cards from Fox Rain combine two different printing techniques on two different papers.  The top layer was letterpress printed by Shelley Weir of Sweet Peony Press with silver ink on a dark brown woodgrain paper.  Designer Sandra Liu then adhered the top layer to a bright white cotton stock hand stamped with the company’s information.  So cool!

The letterpress halftone images give these cards from Tactic Marketing a bit of texture and some cool personalized detail (via Lovely Stationery and FPO).

I can’t get over the incredible detail and fine (yet layered) lines in these letterpress business cards, printed by Boxcar Press for designer Christina Clugston.

I have a couple more business card projects to share with you a bit later, so check back soon!  And as always, if you’d like to share your own business cards or a recent business card project, you can e-mail me right here!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  This weekend I’m up in New Jersey helping to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday.  Our family is scattered all over the country, so we’ve all been trickling into town over the last couple days and totally surprising my dad.  Fun!  And after a couple of really stressful weeks it’s nice to unwind, focus on a happy celebration, and relish in the company of my wonderful family.  But in the meantime…

Christina’s Cameo-Inspired Business Cards

Rose from Bittersweet Design Boutique sent over some lovely business cards and identity suite that she recently created for photographer Christina Carroll.  Rose incorporated a custom illustration inspired by antique cameo jewelry in a nod both to Christina’s stylish mother and Christina’s own unique perspective as a photographer.

From Rose:  Christina Carroll is an eclectic international wedding photographer who puts a lot of personality into her work.  I was beyond excited when Christina came to me in need of a new logo and business stationery!

With a mother who is very fashion-forward, Christina’s sense of style has been present since day one.  We wanted to compliment Christina’s unique eye for photography by creating a funky illustration to use as her main logo.  The text needed a little more liveliness to compliment the intricate illustration, so we added the leaves to the bottom of the letters.

The cameo, which makes its appearance in Christina’s paper system, fit in perfectly with the overall feminine look that we were going for.

Red + Aqua Carnival Birthday Party Invitations for Grace!

As much as I love wedding invitations, there’s just nothing like the youthful exuberance of a kids party invitation.  Jennifer from The Paper Peony sent over these adorable carnival-inspired letterpress invitations that she designed and printed for her daughter Grace’s second birthday, along with some images of the party itself!

From Jennifer:  We planned a vintage red and aqua carnival theme for a small gathering in our home.  The invitations set the tone with fun fonts, stripes, and a red balloon in each envelope.  I designed the thank you notes with sweet little flags to compliment the party décor.

We decorated with lots of balloons and wonderful hand-made fabric banners that were hung all over the house (thanks to my mother-in-law).  We served lots of popcorn, gourmet hotdogs and salads as well as “popcorn” cupcakes that I made for the kids. They were a huge hit!

We had toss games for activities and my husband Shaun even learned how to make balloon animals and flowers the night before.  He got really good at it too!  The kids favors were so fun to put together!  We included rubber ducks, animal crackers, clown noses, pin wheels, candy dots and whoopee cushions!  I also made little paper flags with each child’s name.
