Yan + Graham’s Nature-Inspired Destination Wedding Invitations

We’re all about destination weddings today!  These invitations were created for a celebratory reception following an intimate destination wedding ceremony in Hawaii.  The bride, Yan, is a web designer based in San Francisco and chose to design her own reception invitations.  The natural surroundings of the wedding ceremony location served as the primary design inspiration, and Yan also incorporated some fun details to keep things light and playful.

From Yan:  When my husband and I decided to have a destination wedding in Hawaii it was only fitting that our theme would include elements of nature.  Our decision to use birds stems from what they generally represent: freedom, hope, and in the case of weddings, unity and happiness.  We wanted our invitations to the reception (held a week after our trip with close friends and family) to be whimsical and cheerful.

The invitation suite included the invitation, direction card, RSVP card, and corresponding enclosures.  Letterpress printing by San Francisco-based Dependable Letterpress on #110 Crane Lettra pearl white paper.  Green origami paper was used for lining the envelopes and was combined with silk ribbon assembling at the end.

Thanks Yan!  Gorgeous work!
