Brooke + Jason’s Elegant Rehearsal Dinner Invitations

Becca from Suite Paperie sent over these rehearsal dinner invitations that she created for a recent couple.  The bride and groom wanted something classic and elegant, so Becca drew her inspiration from the couple’s wedding registry.  For a modern twist, Becca enclosed the invitation in a gray pocket envelope with the rsvp info contained in a vellum mini envelope!

From Becca: Brooke and Jason were looking for a design that did not stray too far from their classic and elegant style, but also had a bit of whimsical modernism to it for their fun rehearsal dinner at a Greek restaurant.  The inspiration for their rehearsal dinner invitations came from the Juliska plates they included on their wedding registry.

I created a custom illustration of the plate and designed vintage vector silverware to complete the table setting layout.  A square metallic slate gray pocket held the invitation and a translucent mini envelope fixed to the outside of the pocket held all the RSVP information.

Shannon + Phillipe’s Peach and Gray Brunch Wedding Invitations

Brunch is hands-down my favorite meal, so of course I love the idea of a brunch wedding reception!  For these brunch wedding invitations, Sarah from Studio SloMo combined the bride’s neutral color palette with pops of peach for a clean and classic design.  So pretty!

From Sarah: Shannon, the bride, wanted to shake things up and have a morning ceremony with a brunch reception.  I was pretty excited considering brunch is hands down the best meal.  Her colors were all neutrals and somewhat based on Billy Reid’s clothing line.  We incorporated her neutral color palette by using slate grey envelopes, metallic silver ink, and a kraft belly band all accented by a hint of light peach.

The belly band has three layers: first a kraft strip, second a letterpress tweed pattern, and third silver + white twine with a letterpress bingo chip highlighting the wedding date.

Along with a brunch wedding, Shannon wanted her guests to have some good old fashioned fun.  She had different board games set up at each table, which is where the “bingo chip” on her invitations comes into play.  The wedding venue was a ranch in central Texas, so it only seemed fitting to use the new weather vane stamps that also matched perfectly with her color scheme.

Janna + Brian’s Vintage-Inspired Wedding Stationery

For Janna and Brian’s wedding stationery, Melissa and Amy from Atheneum Creative incorporated a postcard save the date and fold-out poster wedding invitation – all with a vintage look inspired in large part by the architecture of the wedding venue.  Melissa and Amy also created some really fun day-of stationery details, from ceremony programs to menus!

From Melissa + Amy: When Janna and Brian told us that they were getting married at Villa Del Largo in Austin – a place full of gorgeous arches – we knew that we wanted the venue’s architectural elements to resonate in the design.  We decided to pull those arches into a wedding logo and incorporate the logo throughout the invitations and day-of materials.

Janna and Brian asked us to create a vintage look and feel for their wedding.  We knew that the couple wanted to send out a postcard for their save the date, so we wanted to give the typography the vintage feel in addition to the photo on the front of the postcard.

For the invitation, Janna and Brian wanted to do something really different – and since almost all the guests are from out of town, what better way to highlight the Texas wedding venue than with a large fold-out poster invitation?  We created each panel to reveal more information, including an rsvp postcard.

We also created several day-of elements, including welcome baskets, place cards and escort cards, menus, ceremony programs, and signs.  The ceremony programs doubled as fans to keep guests cool during the outdoor ceremony.

Janna and Brian used one very long table for their guests; two large chalkboard signs in vintage frames directed guests to their seats, while kraft paper place card tags were tied around each silverware setting.  We screen printed the menus directly onto the linen napkins.

Their welcome basket included an accordion fold welcome letter along with custom drink koozies featuring the wedding logo, hang tags for soda, and even a recipe of grandma’s strawberry bread.

Quilled and Framed Wedding Invitation by Ann Martin

If you’re like me and absolutely love your wedding invitations, you’ll want to find a way of displaying them long after the ceremony.  A thoughtful wedding guest commissioned paper filigree (aka quilling) artist Ann Martin to create a quilled frame around the invitation as a wedding gift for the couple.  Such a fantastic idea!

From Ann: A recent client commissioned a quilled and framed wedding invitation as a wedding gift for the couple.  The invitation was a square charcoal gray Vera Wang invitation – very elegant.  All of the scrollwork was done in white with a few touches of silver-edged white.

National Stationery Show 2012, Part 3

I’m so excited to share more from the National Stationery Show!  There has been so much amazing stationery to see at this year’s show, I’ve barely even made a dent in the last two days.  First up for today, I loved all the colorful and modern stationery from Two Paperdolls, from bright greeting cards and a mustache-theme calendar to a gorgeous new album of wedding invitations.  I’m particularly smitten with the line of Mad Men-inspired cards!

Last year, Adrienne from Dingbat Press created a booth covered in silver leaf – and this year she switched things up with a booth made from hundreds of coaster-size kraft paper circles.  Amazing!  I love Adrienne’s new collections of initial notebooks and colorful self-mailing stationery sets.

After making her Stationery Show debut last year, Catherine from Printerette Press put together another beautiful booth full of sweet letterpress greeting cards and a brand new wedding collection.  So pretty!

I’m so excited to see more designers producing boxed writing sheet sets, and I love all the whimsical designs from Fawnsberg – not to mention the greeting cards and rubber stamps featuring their signature hand lettering.

The Dauphine Press booth was ridiculously pretty this year – chock full of gorgeous wedding invitations with metallic foil details, colorful edge painting, and lovely patterns.

So much pretty paper eye candy from Fine Day Press – from the beautiful new watercolor calendar to foil stamp patterns and letterpress greeting cards!

Page Stationery made their Stationery Show debut this year with a brand new wedding album and lots of really fun day-of wedding stationery, including letterpress printed ceremony program covers and double-sided reception signs.  Such a great idea!  I also love their collection of “manly” boxed stationery.
