Zayra + Ivan’s Vintage-Inspired Gray + Celadon Wedding Invitations

These wedding invitations are so pretty!  Created by Erin from Lucky Luxe Couture Correspondence, Zayra and Ivan’s invitations feature beautiful vintage-inspired design elements with soft celadon edge painting.  The classic text and vintage-inspired elements are perfect for a formal wedding, while the subtle color provides just a hint of modern sophistication.  So pretty!

From Erin: Zayra chose this suite based on a similar invitation that we featured on our blog last year, but the original black and ecru color palette didn’t fit her “Marie Antoinette in the country” inspired wedding in Texas.  We love this suite so much, particularly because of its quirkiness and handmade style.

Zayra’s wedding palette included celadon, rose pink, and and metallic gold and we pared it down until it was a simpler look in just the celadon and a medium gray with edge painting in celadon as well.  We’re looking forward to adding this new design to our collection!

Thanks Erin!

Curious George-Inspired Birthday Party Invitations for Lawson

Happy Leap Day everyone!  Julie from Duet Letterpress sent over the most adorable letterpress invitations that she designed and printed for a first birthday party last summer.  These invitations were inspired in part by the invitations that Julie created for her daughter Emily’s first birthday, featuring both an invitation to the birthday celebration along with a certificate marking important milestones during Lawson’s first year.

From Julie: To celebrate Lawson’s first birthday, his parents threw him a party inspired by Curious George.  They wanted something similar to Em’s invitations, but in the style of his party.  In addition to Curious George, the party was a vintage take on classic stories.  Rustic red, pale blue, navy, and a cheerful yellow made up the party’s color palette.

Lawson’s foot and hand prints were letterpress printed true to size.  Lawson was tiny at birth, and his feet were only 1 3/4″ long!  We made the “year of firsts” card a different size from the actual invitation and bound them together with yellow twine.  Finally, a two color, letterpress printed, wraparound mailing label was affixed to each pale blue envelope.

Thanks so much Julie!

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s a gorgeous day here in DC – it has me so excited for spring to arrive in a few weeks!  And after a long week, I’m also grateful for the long President’s Day weekend.   I’m looking forward to walking around our neighborhood, which is just so much more pleasant when the sun is out and shining!  But in the meantime…

Pretty Paper in the Office: Aqua + Gold

The season of celebration has come and gone. This is the time of year when we wait out the thaw, daydreaming of far off lands, clear blue waters and golden beaches. While a few of us are lucky enough to make those dreams come true, I thought I’d try and help out the rest of us with this month’s round-up. With those tranquil retreats of water and sand as my inspiration, I’ve put together a few aqua and gold goodies for the office. Granted it won’t help you with your tan, but hopefully it will make your workspace a little sunnier!

With all the lovely things going on your desk, it would be nice to have something just as lovely inside, don’t you think?  I really love these scented chevron drawer liners by Hammocks & High Tea.  You could also try sheets of fine paper, like this gold waves print from Paper Source.  A little really does go a long way. You’ll be surprised by the difference a surprise print like this can make!

{happy weekend!}

My oh my, after spending two of the last three weeks on the road, I am definitely looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home!  I’m excited to snuggle my cats, hang out with some friends, and otherwise do as little as possible this weekend.  I hope you have something a bit more exciting planned for yourselves!  But in the meantime…
