Primele Calligraphy

With all the snow on the East Coast over the past few days, it’s been a pretty rough week.  So I thought I’d help smooth the transition to the weekend with some lovely calligraphy from the ladies of Primele!

The images above are of the two new invitation suites that Primele created for Bella Figura — Balsam and String.  So pretty!

I know some people consider them to be more trouble than they’re worth, but I will never tire of seeing mix-and-match vintage stamps on wedding invitation envelopes.  And the white ink on black envelopes is such a lovely twist on a classic black and white palette.  For more beautiful calligraphy, definitely check out the Primele etsy shop and blog.

Kate + Nick’s Typography Save the Dates

I have just one word for Kate and Nick’s typography save the dates: Gorgeous. Everything from the vertical layout to the gold metallic ink (all letterpress printed, of course) is just so perfect!

From the vertical monarch layout to the beautifully designed mailing labels, I just love the entire design, although one of my favorite details is the skeleton key silhouette at the top.  The Save the Date was letterpress printed in a single color by Studio on Fire. Amazing. And a big thanks to Rachel for passing along the link!

Hand-Lettered Business Cards

First, I couldn't get over the hand-lettering on these business cards for graphic designer Luciano Ferreira:

Then Chris Piascik started a tumblr blog call Typostruction dedicated to hand-drawn lettering and type, which led me to these hand-lettered cards for Joy Thigpen by Josh LaFayette:

And although I've always had a soft spot for hand lettering, I'm suddenly obsessed with the idea for business cards.  Anyone else incorporating hand-drawn typography into your business cards?  I'd love to see more!

Rachael + Noah’s Peacock Save the Dates

You may remember Haley’s unique hand-lettering and illustration style from her super-cool Save the Dates and wedding invitations.  Now that she’s married and living across the pond in the UK, Haley has started working on projects for other brides through her shop, Bread of Many!

Haley created these Save the Dates for Noah and Rachael, who are planning a vintage-inspired wedding on a peacock farm for this August!  As you can imagine, Haley was quite inspired by the wedding venue in creating custom illustrations for the design…

…while also incorporating some of her signature hand-lettering:

Haley is busy working on Noah and Rachael’s wedding invitations, which I cannot wait to see!  In the meantime, you can check out some of Haley’s other projects on her blog and etsy shop.
