Kendra + Robb’s Rustic Woodgrain Wedding Invitations

These gorgeous and woodsy wedding invitations come to us from Sally at La Happy, designed for an outdoor wedding in Washington state this past summer.  Sally kept the actual invitation simple and relaxed, bringing in hand stamped website cards and beautiful vintage stamps (not to mention stunning calligraphy) to pull the entire invitation suite together.

From Sally: I created this invitation for an outdoor rustic wedding in Winthrop, Washington, which is in the backwoods of Washington State.  The inspiration was the groom’s love of all things outdoors: camping, hiking, etc.  The bride and groom wanted a rustic wedding with a non-fussy, vintage feel, so we tried to incorporate that into the paper design.

The colors of the wedding were really earthy.  Mustard yellow was a key color, then we brought in the stone gray as a neutral color to complement the yellow.  I created the “deer logo” for the wedding and then made a custom stamp out of it and stamped all of the paper pieces.  The invitation was printed on faux bios (a faux wood grain) paper, to relay the feel of the woods and the outdoors.

I created custom stamps to look like an industrial time stamp to use for the date and time of the wedding.  The bride and groom wanted to make sure the invitations did not feel fussy, so we made sure everything had a more industrial, vintage feel.  The RSVP card is a postcard with vintage stamps.  We worked with the lovely (and SO helpful) Virginia Sauder of Verde Studios to find the perfect vintage postage to fit the set.

Thanks Sally!

Mary + Ben’s Elegant and Rustic Wood Veneer Save the Dates

Mary and Ben’s save the dates are a wonderful mix of elegant and rustic, modern and classic.  Melissa and Amy from Atheneum Creative were inspired by Mary and Ben’s love of nature, pairing delicate blooms with simple and elegant text.  Once again, they partnered with Sideshow Press to letterpress print the save the dates on a thin sheet of wood veneer for a subtle rustic look.

From Melissa + Amy:  Mary and Ben love the outdoors and nature and the idea of bringing in natural textures, like wood and burlap, but did not want their wedding to come across as too earthy.  We developed a wedding logo that would really convey their love of nature while keeping it simple and personal, eventually deciding on a 4-color letter P (for the groom’s last name) intertwined with blooming flowers.  We kept the type very modern, giving us that subtle rustic look we wanted.

Thanks Melissa + Amy!

Olivia’s Country Carnival-Inspired Birthday Party Invitations

Sarah from The Happy Envelope sent over these adorable invitations that she created for a country carnival-inspired birthday party.  Such a fun theme for a fall birthday celebration!  The double-sided invitations were printed in pretty orange and green inks, then placed in mailing boxes and tied up with a ribbon and lollipop.  So cute!

From Sarah: These invitations were letterpress printed on ultra-thick, luxurious Crane 4-ply paper in a bright orange ink on the front and a mossy green on the back.  The invitations were placed into chartreuse mailing boxes from Paper Source filled with festive, colorful foam balls and then tied with a pumpkin lollipop and cheery ribbon.  An antique pumpkin illustration paired with vintage-style type and a woodgrain pattern all come together for a perfect country carnival mood!

Thanks Sarah!

Kate + Hillary’s Rustic Wildflower Wedding Invitations

I absolutely adore these beautiful same-sex wedding invitations from Ellie at Hello Tenfold.  The wedding reception will take place on a farm in North Carolina later this fall.  Ellie incorporated lovely floral illustrations and woodgrain details to complement the rustic elegance of the wedding.  Gorgeous!

From Ellie: Hillary and Kate are getting married this fall in North Carolina, with a reception at a farm in the country.  They’ll be incorporating fall colors (hopefully with some cooperation from the leaves!), wildflowers, burlap, and strings of lights for a casual but elegant affair.
