{happy weekend!}

What. A. Week. While we weathered the storm pretty well here in DC, my thoughts have been with those in New York and New Jersey affected by Hurricane Sandy.  The images and stories of the destruction are completely overwhelming and I know the road to recovery, much less the restoration of power, will be a long one.  When I haven’t been completely glued to the news, somewhere between last weekend and today, my little Sophie suddenly stopped looking like a newborn and started looking like a real baby.  She’s getting bigger each and every day, even though she’s still smaller at 7 weeks than some newborns, she’s paying closer attention to objects, and she’s smiling at us!  The smiles just make my heart melt.  This weekend we’re planning to visit our favorite flea market and relax at home, but in the meantime…

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Sophie and I survived our first week on our own, and while I’m perhaps a teensy bit more sleep deprived than I was last week, I’m slowly gaining confidence with our new daily routine.  My one-handed typing skills are much improved from last week – now I just need to figure out how to calm a fussy baby with one hand and do everyday tasks (like washing my face) with the other!  For the moment, I’m just looking forward to a quiet weekend before Hurricane Sandy rolls into town early next week.  But in the meantime…

Seasonal Stationery: 2013 Calendars, Part 2

Before we all go running off for the weekend, just a quick note to let you all know that I’ve been busy adding some more beautiful 2013 calendars to the round-up page!

2013 Calendar Round Up via Oh So Beautiful Paper

1. Satsuma Press; 2. Russell + Hazel Smart Deck; 3. Hammerpress; 4. Mr. Boddington’s Studio; 5. Linda + Harriett

Recent additions include updated versions of some of my favorite 2012 calendars along with a bunch of brand new calendars, including the amazing large scale screen printed calendar from Linda + Harriett (above) that I went absolutely gaga for during the National Stationery Show in May and a calendar from Mr. Boddington’s Studio (yay!).  I’m also seriously impressed by the 2013 letterpress calendar from Satsuma Press (above), which features seven (!) jewel tone colors in a modern geometric pattern – I just had to include a detail image above to highlight the intricate design.

Check out all the calendars right here!
