Sesame Street Birthday Party Invitations

Like most kids of my generation, I grew up watching Sesame Street and the show still holds a very special place in my heart.  So when Michelle from Lemiga Events down in Atlanta contacted me regarding this Sesame Street-themed birthday party, I was instantly in love with the entire concept.  And of course once I saw the photos, I just couldn’t resist sharing the party invitations and paper details:

Luxe Expressions created all the stationery details – starting with the gorgeous letterpress birthday party invitations complete with a red and yellow polka dot envelope liner.

Michelle made sure the kids were well-supplied with balloons, lollipops, and lunch bags decorated with brightly colored ribbon and custom tags with the birthday girl’s initials:

Michelle repeated the motif from the lunch bags on the napkins, coasters, and drink stirrers:

I can’t think of a better way to start off the morning than with beautiful stationery from Winged Wheel in Tokyo, Japan.  From elegant wedding invitations to softly patterned stationery to animal note cards and floral business cards, I’m having a really hard time picking just one favorite!

Christine + Jason’s Polka Dot and Floral Wedding invitations

At the National Stationery Show last month, I got to talking with Christine from Flora and Fauna Press (you can see her NSS booth here) about the invitations from her wedding last year, and I made her promise to send over photos.  Well, they’ve arrived, and I think you’re going to love them as much as I do!  The design was inspired by the wedding venue – a ranch in southern California – and the swiss dot fabric that Christine used in her wedding dress.   Here she is, looking absolutely lovely:

From Christine:  The overall invitation design was mostly inspired by the ranch where we were married.  I wanted a vintage country feel, while keeping it whimsical and fun.

I decided to use polka dots after my dress designer suggested incorporating swiss dot fabric, since I thought it would be fun to tie that element into the wedding stationery.

I used different size dots and a variety of stripes so the invitation suite didn’t get too “matchy”.

Since I knew I needed papers to make cupcake flags and bunting, I matched my orange and green accent colors to French Papers “Pop-tone” swatches.

Gorgeous!  I love the crisp black and white with bright pops of color – Christine even created matching black and white letterpress bags for the candy buffet at the reception – not to mention the adorable mix of polka dots and stripes.  A huge thanks to Christine for sharing the photos from her wedding, and you can check out more wedding invitations from Flora and Fauna Press right here!

Teddy Bear Baby Announcements

I’m not sure if it’s the total cuteness factor or just the fact that I’m getting a bit older, but over the past couple of years I’ve definitely developed a fondness for baby-related stationery, particularly baby announcements.  So when Brandi tweeted about these amazing 4-color letterpress baby announcements printed by Blush Publishing, I immediately fell for the playful teddy bear and bright colorful stars:

The design was provided by the father, Denis (congrats Dad!), and printed by Blush onto 300 gsm cotton paper.  Such a wonderful way to welcome a new little one to the world!
