{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in DC; the leaves are changing colors everywhere and the skies have been mostly gray and rainy the last few days.  I think it’s all beautiful, and I love listening to the rain while I sit at my computer all day.  Right now I’m looking forward to a quick trip up to New York for a few days for Bridal Market – it’ll be nice to get out of DC for a couple of days!  But in the meantime…

2012 Calendar Round Up, Part 4

It’s time for another installment of our 2012 calendar round ups!  There seems to be no shortage of beautiful calendars this year, and there are still more to come over the next few weeks.  First up today, this gorgeous letterpress calendar, the result of a collaboration between Moontree Letterpress and Carta Inc.  The twelve months are divided into four seasonal pages with beautiful botanical patterns and bound with a chartreuse cotton ribbon.  Gorgeous!

Caitlin + Sean’s Watercolor Wedding Invitations

I’ve had these beautiful watercolor wedding invitations from Constellation & Co. bookmarked for the longest time and just couldn’t wait any longer to share them.  Sara and Brad from Constellation & Co. combined letterpress text with a wash of watercolor, making each invitation completely unique and absolutely stunning!

Sara & Brad designed these wedding invitations for a late summer wedding in Victoria, British Columbia.  Each invitation was watercolor painted by hand to represent the last moments of sunshine as summer becomes fall.  So pretty!

Constellation & Co. is a member of the Designer Rolodex – you can see more of their beautiful work right here or visit the real invitations gallery for more wedding invitation ideas!

Crafty Bastards 2011

We had a cold and rainy weekend here in DC, but that didn’t stop folks from heading out to Crafty Bastards on Saturday – the fair was packed!  This year’s fair was packed full of exhibitors from as far away as Washington state, Ohio, Boston, Georgia, and everywhere else in between.  I managed to sneak in a few pictures even while trying to dodge the rain, so today I thought I’d share a few favorites from this year!

New House Project was probably my favorite from the whole fair.  I loved everything from the hand watercolor painted postcards to the embroidered gift tags.  So pretty!

I also love these embroidery pieces from Merriweather Council.  The little hearts are sweet, and she also has embroidered pendant necklaces!

Figs-Ginger-Crafty-Bastards

I always love the delicate jewelry from Figs + Ginger – the new initial pendants and silhouette designs are just beautiful.

These serif and sans-serif wood lasercuts from Pepper Sprouts were another favorite from the fair

Amazing woodblock prints from Tugboat Printshop (left), and cute cards and rubber stamp sets from Small Talk Studio (right)

Fun screen printed cards and prints from Slide Sideways

I couldn’t get enough of these beautiful illustrated cards and gorgeous textiles from Sara Lee Parker

More gorgeous prints from Brainstorm Print + Design

Awesome illustrated posters by Nate Duval

Last, but definitely not least – block printed cards and textiles, including some fun new monogram cards, by local artist Katharine Watson

Those were some of my favorites!  I’d love to hear what you think!

2012 Calendar Round-up, Part 1

Y’all, I can barely believe it, but it’s that time of year… calendar season!  Today is the first of what I’m sure will be many calendar round up posts (last year there were nine!), and for the first installment I’m focusing on 2012 editions from some of my favorites from 2011.  First up, the always lovely nature-inspired minimalist designs from one of my perennial favorites, Satsuma Press:

This year Rifle  Paper Co. is offering three different calendar formats – two monthly wall calendars in botanical or fruit themes, and a twelve month floral wall calendar:

I first glimpsed the Pistachio Press cross stitch calendar back at the National Stationery Show in May, and it’s still one of my favorites for 2012:

The Sycamore Street Press 2012 calendar was inspired by French pastries, featuring a twelve month wall calendar with a dozen illustrations, from macarons to éclairs – yum!

The Paisley Tree Press 2012 calendar comes with thirteen envelopes – you can use the cover and each month to send a sweet note to friends and family!

I always love the wood veneer calendars from Night Owl Paper Goods – this year they’re offering half a dozen adorable formats, from the critters desk calendar below to hanging wall calendars.

I love the modern illustrations and patterns on the 2012 calendars from SusyJack*.  Susy is also offering two formats this year – a hanging wall calendar and write-on wall calendar:

Linda & Harriett is offering two super limited edition 2012 calendars – a wall calendar inspired by watercolors and an adorable letterpress calendar (the bottom of each month detaches for use as a postcard!).

The Ilee calendar has been one of my favorites for the past three years – I can’t wait to receive my 2012 edition!
