Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Menu Signs

We’ve talked before about personal wedding menus, placed at each seat or table, but today we’re talking menus on a larger scale! Menu signs can often be a cost effective option for large weddings, as you can have just one or two over-sized pieces displaying your dinner or cocktail menu, rather than creating individual versions for each guest. They also happen to make quite the statement at your big day! Recruit your calligrapher to work their magic on a chalkboard or wood slab, or work with your stationery designer to design a stunning menu banner that captures the same feel as your smaller paper goods. Then prop it up or hang it from above for all wedding attendees to see! — Kelly

Kim + Garrett’s Whimsical Illustrated NYC Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! We’re still trying to get over the cold that brought our entire family down late last week (I was the final victim over the weekend), so I’m off to a rather sluggish start to the week. Thankfully these whimsical New York City skyline wedding invitations from Katie Fischer Design are helping to brighten the morning!

From Katie: Kim and Garrett are both professors and they met and fell in love in New York City. For their invitations, they wanted the city reflected in an artful, whimsical way.

I did a charcoal, pencil, and watercolor drawing on textured watercolor paper of the New York City skyline using energetic, graffiti-like lines. I hand-painted metallic silver accents to the finished pieces. The suite is flat printed on thick white cover with charcoal gray envelopes.

{happy weekend!}

You guys! Today is the big day! We’re off to meet with our agent for the closing, and after that we’ll officially be homeowners! And between the craziness of packing, some last minute shenanigans from the title company (ugh), and a million other things, I’m kind of amazed that we got through this week at all. We have just a couple more days of packing left, then we move in on Monday! Luckily my in-laws are coming down to help this weekend, followed by my dad early next week. Wish us luck with the move – we’ll definitely need it! But in the meantime…

Hello Spring

Watercolor Wedding Invitations from Fine Day Press

Spring may still be playing a bit of hide and seek, but these days I’m craving anything colorful, floral, or both! So I was thrilled when Ashley from Fine Day Press sent over a few photos of her beautiful new watercolor wedding invitation collection. Ashley mixed modern typography with nature-inspired watercolor patterns, including several botanical designs. So pretty!

From Ashley: The new invitation collection combines lushly textured watercolor illustrations and modern typography (both of which can mix & match), all printed on thick cotton paper. The designs are flat-printed so they’re a bit easier on the budget than letterpress without sacrificing quality! Overall, the collection has a modern sensibility combined with the romantic feel of watercolor.
