{happy holidays!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Next week I’ll have a few reruns of some of my favorite wedding invitation features from this year, but otherwise, I’m signing off until 2011!  This has been a truly incredible year full of some amazing changes and developments, and it’s all gone by so quickly I’ve barely had a chance to even think about everything that has happened over the last twelve months!  So I’m going to take a few days to relax, recharge, and get ready for all the amazing things to come in 2011.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday, and I’ll see you back here in 2011!

xoxo

Book Preview: Yellow Owl Workshop’s Print Workshop

I was so excited when I heard that Christine from Yellow Owl Workshop would be releasing her first book!  Titled Print Workshop, the book is all about hand printing techniques, from relief printing to screen printing to image transfer printing – and, as I expected, I love every single page.  And just in case you think I’m a bit biased given my love of all things paper, even my non-paper-obsessed husband enjoyed reading through Print Workshop.  I was lucky enough to receive a promotional copy, and I thought I would share a little peek!

Print Workshop is a wonderful introduction to the world of hand printing, with a primer on all the different tools required for printing at home and basic design techniques – all from Christine’s unique perspective on design and illustration.

Of course, Christine included some fun DIY projects for each technique…

The book officially comes out on December 28, but you can pre-order a copy right here.  Congratulations Christine!

Blind Impression Thank You Cards

Vanessa from Alchemy Fine Events recently released a line of blind impression thank you cards.  Vanessa designed them with a recent bride in mind, but really anyone can use them.  Aren’t they pretty?  Of course, I love the blind letterpress impression!

Vanessa can even customize the color of the envelope liner to match your wedding invitations or other color palettes.  So cute!

Sneak Peek – Martha Stewart Weddings Winter 2011 Issue

The Winter 2011 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings will be on newsstands in just a few days, and I’m so excited to help share a tiny sneak peek at the upcoming issue!

Martha-Stewart-Weddings-Winter-2011

I always look forward to the stationery features, and for this issue the editors decided to focus on some semi-DIY save the date ideas.  My favorite idea from the upcoming issue is the folded envelope save the date below, where you can have your favorite calligrapher create a scanned image of your text, then fold the page up into its own envelope and send it on its way – just like a regency letter.  So romantic!

There are lots of other cool ideas in the issue, but you’ll have to wait just a few more days to pick up your copy!
