Rustic Succulent-Inspired Gray and Green Wedding Invitations

A rustic gray and green color palette. Nature-inspired textures. Beautiful brush hand lettering throughout. Gina of Eleven and West created these rustic succulent-inspired gray and green wedding invitations for a summer wedding in the Pacific Northwest. Gina stuck to a simple color palette to allow the natural hand lettering and stunning engagement pictures to shine through, and incorporated the bride’s love of succulents throughout the invitation suite. And seriously, how gorgeous are those brush lettered kraft paper envelopes??

From Gina: When designing Dustin and Denny’s wedding invitations, Dustin really left a lot of creative freedom to me. She did mention that she loved succulents and was going to be incorporating those into her wedding day and would like to see them in her wedding invitations, too. We worked to create a natural and simple design that went along with her other wedding elements.

I love incorporating engagement photos into invitation suites, I think it adds an even more personal touch for wedding invitations to really make them unique and special. When she sent over these gorgeous photos from Annamae Photo, I knew we had to incorporate them somehow! We actually ended up using two of them in the suite!

We incorporated hand lettering into every piece of this invitation suite, with gray watercolor swashes as accents and small watercolor succulents. The lettering style is using my natural hand, nothing tight or too formal in its overall look. The kraft paper envelopes further incorporated that natural and earthy feel. I hand lettered all of her guest addresses in white paint and we had her return address printed on the flap with a small succulent design.

With wedding websites being so popular, we added a detail card that pointed guests to their wedding website for all of their information. We added another engagement photos on the back of it and I incorporated a hand lettered overlay of their names to add a graphic touch to their suite. We kept the RSVP simple with just a white card and light gray hand lettering and we printed a small watercolor detail along the bottom.

A piece of twine helped tie the invitation suite all together. This adds not only a more tangible aspect to the piece but also builds on the overall texture of the suite. Overall, we kept everything simple with a personal and natural feel to the suite.

Whimsical Poppy and Eucalyptus Watercolor Wedding Invitations

It’s SNOWING here in DC, so I’m trying to distract myself from this situation with these whimsical poppy and eucalyptus watercolor wedding invitations from Kim of Bright Room Studio! We’ve had the pleasure of featuring many of Kim’s beautiful hand lettered and watercolor wedding invitations over the years, and I’m beyond thrilled that she recently released a new wedding invitation collection that makes it easier for brides and grooms to get Kim’s signature style without the pricetag and timeline of a custom invitation suite. Kim is here today to share one of her favorite designs from the new collection! We’re loving Kim’s cheerful script lettering paired with the gorgeous watercolor floral and eucalyptus elements!

From Kim: I’m so excited to share one of my favorite suites from my new Bright Room Studio Wedding Collection! I call this suite the Poppy design. This design was actually the last one I created. The other suites in the collection are all pretty simple and very typography based and I felt like I needed a little more watercolor and a little more floral in my life, so I started painting!

The florals are inspired by some of my favorite wedding bouquets, with big bold flowers, lots of texture and unusual elements like kumquats and berries. I love the cheery color palette because I think it works for any season; the greens and pinks are perfect for spring and summer, the orange tones lean a bit more toward fall and the touches of eucalyptus can even bring this suite into winter time.

I used the florals throughout the suite, but I think my favorite spot is on the Save the Date. I love how the wreath compliments the rest of the suite without being too “matchy matchy.” I think this might be my favorite piece in the whole collection!

Whimsical Poppy and Eucalyptus Watercolor Wedding Invitations by Bright Room Studio

I love when invitation suites come together in a way that is coordinated and cohesive but not matching, so I gave the particulars card a watercolor wash background for a little pop and to ground the whole group. I also just kept a small eucalyptus leave on the mini details card to break up the florals a bit. Everything goes together but no two pieces are the same.

I also love how the watercolor prints look on the lovely textured cotton paper. It almost looks like it was painted directly onto the card instead of digitally printed. All that texture really brings the florals to life.

The entire suite can be customized too! For brides who love the florals, you can select your hand-lettered script style, font, color, envelope colors, and which pieces you need to bring together your perfect suite. Each suite has the option of an invitation, RSVP, particulars card, weekend events card, mini card (that can be used for a website, reception details or any other little bit of info), save the date and return address stamp. I simply love how versatile a pre-designed collection can be for brides!

Romantic Copper Foil Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! Are you ready for some truly beautiful wedding invitations with one of the most gorgeous envelope details I’ve EVER SEEN???? These romantic copper foil wedding invitations come to us from two ladies that are near and dear to my heart: Samantha and Whitney of Gus & Ruby Letterpress! Whitney designed (and printed!) these invitations for Sam’s wedding a couple summers ago, with beautiful calligraphy from Graceline, a soft and romantic color palette, and copper foil details woven throughout the suite. So pretty!

From SamanthaMy absolutely incredible business partner and best friend, Whitney, designed this custom suite for me, welcoming guests to my weekend-long wedding held outside Portland, Maine. Though the wedding was held in a refurbished barn, the event was not at all rustic and instead featured an elegant, romantic color palette of deep purples, rich raspberry, slate blue, copper, and a few blushy pinks. My overall aesthetic was inspired by a moody Vermeer still-life.

An interactive tri-fold save the date introduced guests to the event with information about the weekend. The piece was then tied with metallic twine atop a card featuring duo-tone papers (soft pink and deep plum) and a full-bleed floral pattern.

The invitation suite featured romantic, contemporary calligraphy by Jenny Sanders of Graceline Art and a classic roman font. The actual invitation featured a swath of copper foil along the bottom while other pieces used varying paper colors and small amounts of florals to convey the elegant tone. Each invitation suite was wrapped in a hand-dyed linen band, tied with metallic twine and had dried eucalyptus leaves atop them.

Weekend events cards were printed on duo-toned paper (deep plum and soft pink) and housed in small slate blue “details” envelopes featuring custom wax seal closures. All pieces were printed on a mix of double-thick 100% cotton paper and rich colored stock. As always, the pieces were lovingly letterpress printed and foil-stamped by hand on our antique presses here in NH.

The whole bundle was then housed in a deep wine-colored envelope with a soft blush liner. Delicate copper frames were foil stamped on the front of the envelope to encircle a selection of carefully curated stamps and white calligraphy finished the design.

Vibrant Purple Floral Watercolor Wedding Invitations

These invitations are so vibrant and fun! Kyle Sommer of Sommer Letter Co. created these vibrant purple floral watercolor wedding invitations for an elegant-meets-casual summer farm wedding for two high school sweethearts in Indiana. The floral illustrations and watercolor hand lettering are the perfect match for a summer barn wedding!

Vibrant Purple Floral Watercolor Wedding Invitations by Sommer Letter Co.

From Kyle: Taylor and Jalen, high school sweethearts, came to me looking for a beautiful way to capture the vibes of their dreamy summer wedding in Indiana. They had chosen an amazing variety of purples for their wedding colors: a mix of lavender, violet, amethyst, and lilac. The couple chose to get married at Joseph Decuis Farm, an event space that describes itself as “a farm dressed in a tuxedo.” It truly carries a formal vibe in an unexpectedly casual environment. Throughout the design process, we tried to walk that line between formal and friendly. Taylor told me she wanted to keep things elegant, but also reflect the casual barn wedding atmosphere. She really emphasized that she didn’t want the event to feel stiff – she wanted her guests to feel at home.

Vibrant Purple Floral Watercolor Wedding Invitations by Sommer Letter Co.

I really wanted to carry that breezy, summery, barn wedding feel into the wedding invitation suite. We decided a hand painted floral bouquet would be the perfect fit. It would capture the beauty and elegance of florals, but we gave it a bit of an “undone” look by imagining a bouquet with a few loose leaves poking about, and a handful of lavender stems drooping downward. We chose to feature their names and titles with a bit of large, scribbly, watercolor hand lettering.

Vibrant Purple Floral Watercolor Wedding Invitations by Sommer Letter Co.

To top it off, Taylor chose a shimmery champagne envelope and vintage floral postage stamps. We kept the outside of the envelope fairly traditional. I chose to write names and addresses in a simple brush pen lettering style. Guests would receive formal, traditional looking envelopes, but open them to discover rich purple hues and the couple’s welcoming vibes.
