September Desktop Downloads!

Hello hello hello again! And happy September everyone! Did you have a restful Labor Day weekend? We started the weekend with a friend’s wedding in New York City, followed by some quiet downtime with family. And after our short summer hiatus, we’re back and ready to jump back into our regular content â€“ starting with this month’s desktop downloads! We have two gorgeous illustrated wallpapers from Katie at The Good Twin for your phones and desktop (or laptop) computers. I absolutely love what Katie put together for us this month, and I hope you do, too!

Help for Hurricane Harvey

We’re supposed to be on our annual summer hiatus this week, but given the impact of Hurricane Harvey I just had to jump back in to share some ways that we can help right now. My heart goes out to the residents of Houston and those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Please stay safe out there, friends. I’m sure you have already seen the call to donate to the Red Cross, which you should absolutely do if you are able, but there are lots of other ways to help â€“ from donating to the Texas Diaper Bank and local food banks to fostering rescued pets. Please help support relief efforts if you are able to do so. Every little bit helps!

HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF FUND

Houstonâ€™s Mayor, Sylvester Turner, has set up the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund to directly help those in need. You can also text HARVEY2017 to 91999 or visit the website here: https://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/

GLOBAL GIVING

This fund will provide relief to survivors in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild. All donations to this fund will exclusively support relief and recovery efforts from this storm. ALL HANDS VOLUNTEERS

Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday everyone! We started with that amazing eclipse on Monday, and as of today we officially made it through our first week of school here in DC. Yay! Next week, Oh So Beautiful Paper will be on our annual summer hiatus â€“ so we’ll be back with fresh new posts after Labor Day. Plus, I have some REALLY exciting news that I can’t wait to share with all of you! But you’ll just have to wait until September 5 to find out what it is! But in the meantime…

NSS 2017: A Few Favorites

I’m like a kid in a candy store during the National Stationery Show each year. There’s so much to see! So many people I want to talk to, catch up with, new booths to see, and more! The only problem with being a stationery addict at a trade show dedicated to stationery and paper goods is that I genuinely love ALL OF IT and would take every single thing home with me if I could! Each year, there are a few extra special things that really stand out and make a connection with me, from greeting cards to gift items. So today I’m closing out our coverage from this year’s National Stationery Show with a few show favorites that, for whatever reason, didn’t fit into one of our other round ups. I’m seriously crazy about these letterpress printed baby milestone cards from Rachael of Pistachio Press â€“ a new mom herself! In addition to number cards for monthly photos, there are milestone cards for when baby learns to roll over, crawl, smile, and more. SO CUTE!!

I’ve made and broken a lot of resolutions over the years, but I think I might actually stick to a resolution with this kit from Baltic Club! It’s undated, so you can start a new resolution any time of year, and comes with cute gold stickers to help keep track of progress!

Hologram foil was everywhere at this year’s show, much to my delight! The Social Type had TONS of hologram foil, including hologram foil matchboxes and envelope note sets. Wild Ink Press debuted a new birthday gemstone card collection with every type of shiny, iridescent, and metallic foil imaginable. So fun!
