{happy weekend!}

I haven’t shared any photos of Sophie recently, so I thought I’d end the week with a little update on my sweet little girl. She’s 2.5 months now (11 weeks to be exact), smiling up a storm, and interested in everything and everyone. She had a blast meeting new friends and family members over Thanksgiving weekend! I also hinted on twitter earlier this week that we’ve encountered some sleeping issues, so I’m one tired mama these days! Sophie is at the stage where she really wants to be awake for longer stretches but just can’t quite handle it, so we’re trying to find the right balance between awake time and nap time during the day so that we both minimize her meltdowns and can hopefully get her to sleep for longer stretches at night. I think I might do cartwheels the first night we get 6 or more hours out of her! Seriously. Anyway, this weekend we’re hoping to check out Holiday Heap in Baltimore and maybe even visit the National Aquarium (I’ve never been!). But in the meantime…

That’s it for me this week! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday! xoxo

Calligraphy Inspiration: Linea Carta

I’ve always admired the work of Linea Carta‘s Diva Pyari. I’m sure you’ve seen her work around the OSBP block before. She has a style all her own and it’s certainly hard to forget! You may have also seen Diva’s writing on the big screen, or in Martha Stewart Weddings. I’m sure you can see why; elegant, dynamic, endlessly romantic, with beautiful illustrations to boot! Not that she needs it. Diva’s writing in itself is a work of art. – Julie

Diva’s calligraphy oozes character. Not so perfect that you can’t tell it’s hand written, her work gives an air of old love letters from days past.

With a hint of custom illustration or perhaps calligraphy on porcelain, (such a wonderful idea for Save the Dates!) Diva knows how to make her work stand out from the rest.

And of course, you must check out the Linea Carta shop, filled with all sorts of goodies. From napkins to address stamps to calligraphy starter kits; Diva has plenty of gorgeous items to ogle over. Be sure to take a look!

DIY Tutorial: Festive Wrapping with Holiday Gift Tags

The holiday season is probably our favorite season of the year. We love all of the parties, good food, and decorating! Wrapping gifts doesn’t have to be a chore. If you use beautiful materials, it can be just as much fun as picking out the gift itself. We couldn’t pass up this stunning wrapping paper when we spotted it at Urbanic Paper Boutique in Venice a few weeks ago! We used beautiful rubber stamped gift tags and vintage ribbon to accent each gift. – Bailey and Emma of Antiquaria

By picking a couple of cohesive papers and ribbons, our gifts look even more beautiful sitting together than on their own. How great would they look all stacked under a tree?

Embossed Holiday Gift Tags: For this gift tag, we used the embossing technique. If you go here you will find detailed step-by-step instructions for the process. For this tag, you will want a hunter green card cut to 2.25″ x 4″ and our “Happy Holidays” Calligraphy Gift Tag Stamp. Using a standard 1/4″ hole punch, punch a hole in the top center of the card. Simply thread twine or ribbon through the hole and attach to your gift.

Holly Berry Gift Tags: Cut white card stock to 2.25″ x 4,” and punch a hole using a 1/4″ hole punch in the top center. Ink your stamp (we used our “Holly Berry” Gift Tag Stamp) with hunter green ink. Center the stamp over your tag and press firmly to make a print. After it dries, simply thread twine or ribbon through the hole and attach to your gift.

Stationery A – Z: Thank You Cards

In this season of giving, sometimes you need a thank you card that expresses gratitude in a meaningful way. A card that relates tenderheartedness on the outside with plenty of room on the inside to comprehensively write just why you are grateful for them. Today we’re rounding up a few special thank you cards that are almost as sweet as the recipient. — Tashia
