NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 7

I love a bit of sparkle in my wardrobe, so I couldn’t resist taking a closer peek at some of the jewelry exhibitors at the NYIGF winter market â€“ and today I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you! First up, I was absolutely thrilled to run into Laura of Prismera â€“ I’m a huge fan and already own several of her nature-inspired pieces. I’m completely in love with all the color that she has incorporated into her collection, from soft pastels to bold hues.

Over in the Handmade section of NYIGF, I stumbled into a shared booth featuring several jewelry lines. I was completely awed by the bold, graphic lasercut jewelry, coasters, and paper prints (!!) from Molly M Designs, along with the delicate fine jewelry from Hortense and modern collections from Paper Wings.

I was beyond smitten with these adorable bow rings and necklaces by Kiel Mead. I prefer the gold and silver versions, but the colorful options are so cute, too!

I just had to get a closer look at the gorgeous rings and stunning raw diamond necklaces from Rebecca Overmann â€“ so beautiful! The first ring below would make such a wonderful engagement ring or anniversary gift, don’t you think?

My friend Laurel Denise makes the most beautiful jewelry, from delicate necklaces and bracelets to leather cuffs. She also has a wonderful collection of small vases with sweet phrases printed on the front â€“ they make such sweet gifts!

NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 6

Today we’re jumping back into recaps from the NYIGF Winter 2013 market with two more posts full of fun eye candy! There’s an entire section dedicated to products for babies and children, from toys to clothing, and this year I took the time to properly browse and pick out a few favorites. I was thrilled when I spotted the 3 Sprouts booth â€“ we already love their adorable bath towels (we have the walrus), and admire that they incorporate unusual animals like hippos and goats into their designs.

Finally, adorable storage boxes that fit PERFECTLY in the Ikea Expedit! I absolutely love the animal options â€“ the dragon and unicorn are too cute!

3 Sprouts

I’ve been a fan of Wee Gallery since even before Sophie came along â€“ we love their stamp sets, temporary tattoos, graphic black + white animal flash cards, I could go on and on!

I can’t wait until Sophie is old enough to play with some of the more educational toys, and these wooden block sets from Uncle Goose are at the top of my list. I absolutely love their language sets, which come in a staggering eighteen languages (!!), and the political nerd in me is completely crazy for the presidential block set.

Petit Collage makes some of the most well-designed baby toys and decorations, from prints and decals to mobiles and puzzles. The beginner puzzle sets are so incredibly cute â€“ the baby animal is always the key piece!

I’m always on the lookout for baby and shower gifts that are both pretty and useful â€“ and the knit toys and baby books from loralin design absolutely fit the bill. The books in particular are so great, from a baby gift record keeper and nursing journal to a baby visitor guestbook!

Elizabeth + Justin’s Modern Destination Wedding Invitations

These destination wedding invitations from Megan of Mae Mae Paperie combine soft gray with blind emboss geometric shapes â€“ such a refreshing approach for a wedding in Florida! In addition to the main invitation and rsvp card, Megan created a custom map of the beach town so the couple could share their favorite spots with friends and relatives. Love!

From Megan:Â This suite was designed for a sweet southern couple who had a destination wedding on the Florida panhandle. While the suite doesn’t feature color it was filled with texture through the mixing of typefaces and tactile letterpress printing of blind embossing and a soft gray ink on cotton paper.

My favorite element was the map featuring lots of fun illustrations scattered along the shore of Florida. The bride’s family vacationed annually in Carillon Beach and the couple wanted to share their favorite places to dine and visit through this map.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone! We had a wonderful week in New York, but I’m definitely happy to be back home in DC. Sophie had such a great time on our little trip â€“ she rode Amtrak for the first time, visited the Museum of Modern Art (she loved Mondrian and Pollock), and explored the city with her papa during the day. She even got to visit NYIGF and absolutely loved it; I think she enjoyed all the bright lights and colors around the show. As for me, I really just need to nap for about 36 hours to recover from so many long days at the Javits Center. I’ll be wrapping up my NYIGF coverage with a couple of final posts next week! But in the meantime…

NYIGF Winter 2013, Part 5

I love making new discoveries at trade shows, and I think my favorite discovery from NYIGF Winter 2013 was Little Korboose. The booth was packed full of fun screen printed goodies, from adorable alphabet prints and nursery artwork to tea towels and toys, all featuring April’s hand drawn illustrations. So so cute!

These stunning lacquer jewelry and storage boxes from Swing Design stopped me in my tracks on the NYIGF floor. I love the clean lines and bright colors â€“ yay for pretty storage!

I don’t often see pet-related goods at NYIGF, so I was super excited to stumble upon the modern pet accessories from Love Thy Beast! The collection includes cat houses with a graphic geometric pattern, large pet beds, animal collars, dog tote bags and winter jackets â€“ even a greeting card collection in partnership with Near Modern Disaster!

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know that I’m obsessed with these hot air balloons from Authentic Models. I want to hang them all over the ceiling of Sophie’s nursery (you know, if we ever manage to actually buy a house). I couldn’t resist taking a few extra photos of the nerdy library-inspired decor in the rest of the booth.
