Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Paper Cake Toppers

I happened upon Frances and Francis recently and fell head over heels for their intricate paper-cut wedding details. I may not be a fan of traditional wedding cake toppers, but one cut beautifully of paper? That I can get behind. Here’s a few of my favorite cake toppers, of the paper variety, to inspire you to bring stationery to the top of your wedding cake! —Kelly

Party Paper: A Black + White Halloween

Happy October everyone! The second October rolls around, I start thinking Halloween. It’s one of my most favorite holidays, but that black and orange palette? Well, I think it could use a little refreshing. So how about a crisp and clean black and white Halloween!? You could keep it just that simple, or you could even add in some pops of neon hues. Whatever you decide, here’s some awesome modern touches to get your party started. â€”Kelly

Shelley’s Destination 40th Birthday Party Invitations

I’ve always been kind of in love with the idea of a destination wedding. What could be better than a fabulous exotic vacation surrounded by my favorite people in the whole world? So why not celebrate a milestone birthday with a destination event? Arley-Rose and Morgan from Ladyfingers Letterpress created these interactive invitations for a destination 40th birthday celebration in France, featuring a map of Paris and punch out paper airplane. So fun!

From Arley-Rose and Morgan: We were approached by the lovely Shelley, an American who was about to celebrate her fabulous 40th birthday in France! Knowing that the journey ahead would be quite the endeavor for her guests, she wanted an invitation that could not be ignored. The result was a letterpress printed and laser-cut invitation that could be assembled – and flown by â€“ her guests.

We started with a map of Paris; highlighting the three greatest French attractions: The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and of course, the Chanel store. To the right was a sign pointing to Epernay, the site of Moet and Chandon Vineyard where the party was to take place.

We letterpress printed the design in an antique gold ink on thick, 220lb Crane Lettra paper and laser cut each invitation, which was then housed in an antique gold envelope. Everything was designed and printed in house, with some help from the folks at AS220 who helped Morgan use the lasercutter!

Brittany + Aleksandr’s Southwestern Desert Cactus Wedding Invitations

Our final set of wedding invitations today is a modern spin on southwestern inspiration from Anastasia Marie. Anastasia incorporated traditional motifs like cactus silhouettes and fringe in a beautiful peach and turquoise color palette. Sweet, simple, and so lovely!

From Anastasia: This couple had a southwestern theme for their wedding with peach and turquoise blue as their colors. We kept the invitation itself in soft peach hues and then added the turquoise punch with the envelopes. Printed on smooth white cover paper, these invitations conveyed southwestern all over with the touches of fringe, cactus motifs, and choice of fonts.
