Shelley’s Destination 40th Birthday Party Invitations

I’ve always been kind of in love with the idea of a destination wedding. What could be better than a fabulous exotic vacation surrounded by my favorite people in the whole world? So why not celebrate a milestone birthday with a destination event? Arley-Rose and Morgan from Ladyfingers Letterpress created these interactive invitations for a destination 40th birthday celebration in France, featuring a map of Paris and punch out paper airplane. So fun!

From Arley-Rose and Morgan: We were approached by the lovely Shelley, an American who was about to celebrate her fabulous 40th birthday in France! Knowing that the journey ahead would be quite the endeavor for her guests, she wanted an invitation that could not be ignored. The result was a letterpress printed and laser-cut invitation that could be assembled – and flown by â€“ her guests.

We started with a map of Paris; highlighting the three greatest French attractions: The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and of course, the Chanel store. To the right was a sign pointing to Epernay, the site of Moet and Chandon Vineyard where the party was to take place.

We letterpress printed the design in an antique gold ink on thick, 220lb Crane Lettra paper and laser cut each invitation, which was then housed in an antique gold envelope. Everything was designed and printed in house, with some help from the folks at AS220 who helped Morgan use the lasercutter!
