National Stationery Show 2015, Part 2

Since we kicked off our 2015 National Stationery Show recaps yesterday with a few new exhibitors, today I thought we’d check in with a few veterans! We’ll start with the wonderfulÂ Snow & GrahamÂ â€“ these bright art printsÂ may have been my single favorite thing from the entire show! I’m also super excited for their brand new planner featuring a navy leather cover with gold foil details and signature Snow & Graham illustrations on each page!

AHeirloom continues to blow me away with their wooden entertaining pieces from wood cake and cupcake (!!!) stands, to watermelon cutting boards (!!!!), to colorful cocktail muddlers. Oh, and new brass cocktail stir sticks?Â Yes please!

Hello!Lucky‘s booth was particularly festive this year â€“ from the adorable paper machÃ© cacti booth decorations to the vinyl confetti on their booth walls! I loved the new blank card designs (particularly the eyes and lips below) and the boozy birthday and holiday cards!

The Katie Leamon booth was hand lettering and marbled paper heaven â€“ not to mention gorgeous polka dot envelopes and sweet scallop edge details!

I would happily move right into the Moglea booth if given the opportunity. That gorgeous wall! The beautiful stationery! I’m kiiiiinnnnd of obsessed with those new beautiful hand painted spiral bound notebooks and notepads!

For Sugar Paper, this year was all about the desk â€“ with a brand new collection of brass desk accessories! Of course, there were tons of beautiful new greeting cards, notebooks, and their gorgeous desktop calendar. I’m also crazy about their new collaboration with illustratorÂ Jennifer Vallez of Sophie and Lili!

Versailles-Inspired Wedding Invitations

I always love seeing the new wedding invitation designs dreamed up by Erin over atÂ Lucky LuxeÂ â€“ andÂ her latest design (appropriately named Marie Antoinette) is no exception! Erin drew inspiration from the Palace of Versailles and 18th century French fashion when creating this invitation suite. Think beautiful and ornamentalÂ design elements mixed with a beautiful pastel color palette!

FromÂ Erin:Â Christa and Andrew reached out to us in early 2014 to commission Marie Antoinette, our new highly ornamental invitation suite inspired by 18th century Versailles and the fashion of Marie Antoinetteâ€™s era, in a color palette inspired by vintage textiles Christa loved: lilac, peach, and dove gray. Andrew is classically trained in French cuisine (hello, French RSVP card!), and they would be married at New Jerseyâ€™s Addison Park, an exquisite venue with lavish black and white interiors fit for a queen. My mind ran away with visions of Kirsten Dunstâ€™s punchy pastel Marie Antoinette tempered by the traditional 18th century style Christa loves so much.

We found antique engravings from the period that remind me of LadurÃ©eâ€™s confection packaging, a tiny icon of a French creole sofa, and highly formal scripts paired with quirky 17th century mapmaking serifs to keep the design from feeling too serious. The antique engraving of an intertwined C&A monogram was the finishing touch for the envelope flap.

National Stationery Show 2015, Part 1

Okay! We’re back from the long weekend and ready to kick off recaps from the 2015 National Stationery Show! There were a ton of new exhibitors at this year’s show, so I thought we’d start with a few of those debuts for our first recap post. FromÂ familiar faces around OSBP â€“ including our very own Bailey and Emma from AntiquariaÂ and Bespoke Press â€“ to newer companies like Our Heiday,Â Sea & Lake, and Hen Pen Paper Co., it was fun to see such strong debuts at this year’s show. We’ll begin with the beautiful hand painted and hand lettered designs fromÂ Our Heiday!

You might rememberÂ Sea & Lake‘s awesome narwhal card from this post a couple of months ago â€“ and there’s a lot more where that came from! These ladies have a way with words (I love their Cards for Allies series), from greeting cards and notepads to gift wrap and mugs!

I’ve been following the beautiful work of Alischa from Bespoke Letterpress out of Australia for years â€“ it was so wonderful to finally see everything in person! I loved the foil art prints and greeting cards (including a fun sparkly gold foil!) and double sided gift wrap. Alischa even wallpapered her entire booth in one of her gift wrap patterns!

Antiquaria’s debut booth was absolutely stunning â€“ and full of gorgeous stationery, art prints, and gift wrap! Bailey and Emma had every base covered in their booth, from tropical botanicals to western cactus designs to delicate floral patterns. It has been so fun to watch Antiquaria grow over the last few years, and I can’t wait to see where they go from here!

Paper Party 2015 Invitations!

I’m honored to host a big party for the stationery industry during the National Stationery Show each May â€“ and this year’s party took place on Tuesday night! I’m excited to share the party photos with you all next week, but in the meantime I thought I’d start with my favorite part of the entire party: the invitations! I was lucky to work with an amazingly talented team, including Moglea, Bella Figura, andÂ Meant to Be CalligraphyÂ â€“ this year’s design features some amazing hand painted details paired with beautiful matte gold foil!

I’ve wanted to work with Meg fromÂ Moglea for years â€“ and this was the perfect excuse! I love Meg’s painterly aesthetic and really wanted the invitation design to set the tone for the rest of the party decor.Â MegÂ hand painted the invitationÂ background, which was digitally printed byÂ Bella FiguraÂ on their new smooth cotton paper and paired with matte gold foil on the front of the invitation.Â I love the subtle shine of the matte foil against the dark navy and pale pink!

The amazingly talented Michele from Meant to Be CalligraphyÂ addressed the envelopes in her EdwardsÂ style. We picked gold inkÂ to complement the matte gold foil on the invitations and paired the gold calligraphy with new black and white floral postage stamps. MegÂ hand painted the STUNNING envelope liner design, which was also digitally printed by Bella Figura.

For a final detail, I borrowed a DIY trick from Meg and dip dyed each individual envelope in red Kool Aid! The dip dye resulted in such a subtle shade of pink â€“ barely visible in the photos â€“ but it really added a special touch to the envelopes and I love the way it looks with Michele’s calligraphy.
