Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Silver + Gold

I have a feeling by now you are all getting into the holiday spirit, I know I am! My very most favorite thing about holiday color schemes and festivities is the love that my most cherished color â€“ gold â€“ gets. Along with silver (Though I’m not going to lie, this post is mostly gold!), these metallics happily ring in the season all the way through to the new year. Gold has become quite the popular wedding accent, and silver has always been there as an elegant way to add a little shine so even if you aren’t getting married during the winter season, their a pair to keep an eye on. Drew + Kyle’s Floral Fall Wedding Invitations

Winter may be coming, but I’m doing my best to hold on to fall for as long as possible. Johanna from Arbor Corner Studio sent over these lovely eggplant purple wedding invitations that she created for a September wedding. Johanna incorporated a floral motif that complemented the classic type and layout. So pretty!

From Johanna:Â Drew and Kyle have a classic sense of style, with touch of modern.Â The main wedding accent color was a beautiful eggplant purple, just perfect for a September wedding!Â Their wedding was very formal, and their reception a big party!Â Drew wanted a new twist on a floral design, so I designed a floral motif that could be used throughout the wedding materials.

We paired the invitation with an eggplant envelope. Drew addressed the envelopes with a champagne-colored metallic pen. The simple one-color letterpress invitation suite and programs perfectly complemented the style of their fall wedding.

Laura + Thomas’s Modern Kraft and Chevron Stripe Wedding Invitations

Laura’s DIY kraft paper save the dates were easily one of my favorite features from 2011, so it’s no surprise that I’m equally in love with her wedding invitations! Laura continued the kraft paper and chevron stripe elements from her save the dates, adding in beautiful letterpress printed pieces and a custom map printed on butcher block paper. Just gorgeous!

From Laura:Â Designing my own wedding invitations was the most challenging part of planning our wedding. Our wedding style was vinÂtage modÂern with neuÂtral colÂors and texÂtures. I wanted to use a variety of paper colors, weights and different printing techniques. The main invitation was letterpress printed by Sensura Studio.

My sister and I hand screen printed the chevron pattern on the inside of the kraft envelope to match our save the dates. Instead of buying new postage stamps, I used all vintage ones from my grandma’s collection.

The other pieces I printed myself on my trusty home printer. My favorite part is the map, which I printed on text weight butcher paper from French Paper Co.

I used the leftover paper for our ceremony programs (which were sewn together), placecards, menus, etc. We had little jars of natural honey for wedding favors and I used my vintage typewriter to make tags and labels.

There is something so timeless about silhouettes, isn’t there? If you want personalization but aren’t looking to monogram everything at your wedding with your new initials, silhouettes make the perfect alternative. They can be used discreetly on your menus or place cards, or they can boldly take center stage on wedding signage, or even atop your cake. They look particularly striking in their classic black and white state, but you can also have a little fun and use them as your pop of color too! â€” Kelly

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Die-Cutting

I’m making you think outside of the box, quite literally, today! You can easily add an extra layer of interest and dimension to your day-of wedding stationery with unique die cut shapes. Die cutting can be used to create a geometric statement with your place cards or to add an intricate border to your menu cards. The process can also be used to cut out a shape within your paper goods, making a perfectly refreshing wedding monogram, for example. I’m positive this technique can be applied to just about any wedding style or theme, be it a rustic fall soiree (think leaves and natural motifs) or a modern loft affair (read: crisp lines and bold silhouettes)! â€” Kelly
