Woodland Papercuts Wedding Invitations

I’m a long-time fan of the beautiful art of papercutting, from greeting cards to artwork to ketubahs and marriage certificates.  So when artist Naomi Shiek sent over her collection of stunning woodland papercut wedding invitations, well, let’s just say it was love at first sight.  Naomi draws her inspiration from nature, with each lovely design focuses on a specific botanical theme.

From Naomi:  I am a huge fan of tactile stationery, I think there’s nothing more beautiful than feeling the images as well as seeing them.  My inspiration is always nature and folklore.  I enjoy the process of papercutting and the imagery is influenced by the slow reveal of the silhouette during the cutting process.  With my invitations & reply cards I wanted to create nature scenes with an air of romance and mystique about them and I wanted the handmade craft to show through.  There are seven pre-made designs in the collection: Wings, Dandelion, Peonies In Bloom, Big Flower, Deer Beloved, Fern, and Bamboo.  Each design includes an invitation and reply card.

Paul + Colleen’s Illustrated Letterpress Save the Dates

I love, love the combination of illustration and letterpress printing.  Colleen from Craft Lovely had the opportunity to print these fantastic letterpress save the dates for her friends Colleen and Paul.  Paul, a talented artist, did the illustration and design work, while (the other) Colleen created the lovely calligraphy on the envelopes.  I’m completely smitten!

Christina’s Cameo-Inspired Business Cards

Rose from Bittersweet Design Boutique sent over some lovely business cards and identity suite that she recently created for photographer Christina Carroll.  Rose incorporated a custom illustration inspired by antique cameo jewelry in a nod both to Christina’s stylish mother and Christina’s own unique perspective as a photographer.

From Rose:  Christina Carroll is an eclectic international wedding photographer who puts a lot of personality into her work.  I was beyond excited when Christina came to me in need of a new logo and business stationery!

With a mother who is very fashion-forward, Christina’s sense of style has been present since day one.  We wanted to compliment Christina’s unique eye for photography by creating a funky illustration to use as her main logo.  The text needed a little more liveliness to compliment the intricate illustration, so we added the leaves to the bottom of the letters.

The cameo, which makes its appearance in Christina’s paper system, fit in perfectly with the overall feminine look that we were going for.

{happy weekend!}

Happy Friday everyone!  Do you all have anything fun planned for this weekend?  I’ve been busy this week making lots of changes to my apartment in preparation for some bigger changes over the next couple of weeks, and my Dad is coming down from New Jersey to help with some of the two-person tasks.  It’s so nice to have him relatively close by, particularly while my husband is overseas, and I’m looking forward to some quality family time.  But in the meantime…

Silhouette Telegram Letterpress Wedding Invitations

How adorable are these telegram wedding invitations?  These invitations were printed by Brisbane, Australia-based studio Bespoke Letterpress for the bride, Fiona, a graphic designer who was super-excited to design her own wedding invitations.  Fiona was inspired by her grandmother’s personal telegrams, and from from the kissing silhouettes at the top to the vintage-inspired telegram layout – I’m loving the entire design.
