Romantic Swan-Inspired Wedding Invitations

I’m kiiiiinnnnnd of obsessed with swan motifs at the moment, so naturally I was super excited when these romantic swan-inspired wedding invitations from Nichole at Coral Pheasant showed up in my inbox! I love the way Nichole incorporated subtle swan details (inspired by the groom’s last name!) into this classic blush and gold invitation design, including a die cut details card and swan envelope liner!

From Nichole: Last year I had the pleasure of working with the magnificent florist Diane Gaudett, of Custom Floral Designs, and her daughter Jocelyn to create a custom wedding invitation suite for Jocelyn’s wedding. Truth be told, it more a family affair with Jocelyn’s fiancé, Justin, and her sister being involved too! They all came to the first design meeting, each contributing and offering ideas that were built upon during the design process.

The vision for the wedding was a super romantic affair with lush florals, crystal chandeliers and luxe linens to be held at the Lace Factory in Deep River, Connecticut. Those details and the darling last name of the groom (Swann!) were the driving bits of inspiration for the suite.

The invitation itself is completely typeset in a script full of romantic flourishes, set at a slight angle and is letterpress printed on double-thick Crane’s Lettra. While the language on the invitation is traditional, playful wording is used on the response card.

My favorite part of the suite is the die cut details card that features a swan with outstretched wings. Seriously, could the groom’s surname be any more fitting for a wedding?! Swans mate for life and are symbols of elegance and beauty. The swan reference is repeated on the patterned envelope liners and again on the custom postage stamp. Blush envelopes bring a hint of color to the palette and calligraphy by Graceline complete the suite.

Shimmery Metallic Moon and Stars Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! We have two absolutely GORGEOUS wedding invitation suites to share with you today! We’re kicking things off with these shimmery metallic moon and stars wedding invitations from Caroline of Lovely Paper Things. I absolutely love all the constellation details that Caroline incorporated throughout the suite, and how gorgeous is the screen printed gold ink over shimmery silver paper? So much sparkle!

From Caroline: When Amber was a little girl, her mom would tell her stories about the moon, and as she grew up she cherished those special tales. Fast forward a few years, to when Heather of Amorology and I were brainstorming for Amber and Jason’s wedding invitation suite. I was immediately inspired to integrate the moon into their wedding invitation design!

The couple knew they wanted their special day to be a black tie, garden affair with very special and personal touches. So I decided to use a combination of painted moon and silhouetted floral illustrations – as though the moon was creating gorgeous floral shadows in a night garden!

Delighting and surprising a couple (and their guests) is one of my favorite things to do, so I had a special die made so that when the invitations arrived, tucked inside their screen printed pouches, they would show a quarter moon. And as the guests opened them up a full moon would be revealed! Hooray!

We used shimmer tone silver paper and custom amber-gold screen printed ink to achieve a romantic, warm look on the invitations, details card, website card, and moon phase cards. The silver paper and gold ink twinkled like star dust! And if that wasn’t enough, the constellations on the response card envelopes were letterpress printed and paired with envelopes with digitally printed liners in a beautiful lunar grey. And as it turns out, the couple was married on a new moon, which was the perfect way to start their happily ever after! Cheers to the sweetest couple and their marvelous moon dance!

Elegant Gold Foil and Navy Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! We’re starting the week with some seriously stunning and elegant gold foil and navy wedding invitations – and they come to us all the way from the other side of the world: New Zealand!! I love the way Kate of Make Hey incorporated the couple’s navy, gold, and peach color palette into the wedding invitations, including the deliciously shiny metallic gold foil against the velvety navy blue paper. Kate drew design inspiration from the wedding venue and surrounding southern New Zealand landscape, which includes mountain valleys, lakes, and big skies. Beautiful wedding invitations for a wedding in an incredibly beautiful setting!

From Kate: This gold foil wedding invitation suite was custom designed for Helen and Tim, who were married in spring at the Tuhitarata Estate in Martinborough, New Zealand. I drew my main inspiration for the design from the Tuhitarata Estate and its surroundings. Tuhitarata Estate is located in South Wairarapa, a wide valley fringed by mountains to the west and rugged coast to the south and east. The South Wairarapa is a place of big skies, beautiful rural scenery, historic towns full of colonial character, lakes, and waterways. The 1860s-era homestead, Tuhitarata, is set in a park like setting of old English trees and formal gardens.

Helen and Tim wanted their elegant color palette of navy blue, gold and hints of peach to be represented in their wedding stationery. The main invitation was printed on Bristol Intensive Navy Blue by B&F Papers and provides the most incredible contrast amongst the invitation suite. The envelopes were simple kraft paper with a matching wrap around kraft paper seal.
