From Samantha and Whitney: This custom suite was designed for a sweet couple who were married by the sea in Blue Hill, Maine. The bride and groom wanted the invitation suite to reflect the romantic, textural, and elegant design that they had in mind for their fête.

Each invitation was triple mounted on a variety of colored stocks in a neutral palette to give a dramatic layering effect and a luxurious weight to the piece. The invitation and insert pieces all featured classic typesetting letterpress printed in a warm grey ink and beautiful custom calligraphy done by Kelle McCarter of Designs Girl foil stamped in a romantic rose gold foil.

A reply postcard featured a vintage topographical map of the venue location, further highlighting the lovely destination. All pieces were then wrapped in a hand-stitched, textural linen band with a layered, foil-stamped tag and coils of super-fine paper thread.

A soft-pink cotton envelope liner foil stamped with Kate and Cleon’s names added yet another pop of color and shine. The pieces were lovingly letterpress printed by hand on our antique press on beautiful, textural, super thick 100% cotton paper.

Day of pieces included programs printed on double-thick cotton featuring rose-gold foil edging, a welcome bag note showcasing a custom map detailing fun area activities for guests, favor tags, custom koozies, and so much more!

Wedding Stationery Inspiration: Geometric Shapes

Crystals, geodes, and stones are popping up all over the place. Whether you are finding inspiration in the lines of a crystal, or the saturated tones of geodes, I think we can all find a bit of summer wedding inspiration in this trend. I love that you can incorporate them into themes that are a bit more organic and natural or go completely opposite and work them into your modern wedding decor with lots of clean lines. Jennifer + Barron’s Gold Foil Watercolor Crest Wedding Invitations

Our next set of wedding invitations mixes classic sophistication with modern glamour and watercolor illustration! With a custom watercolor crest created by Happy Menocal, these invitations from Sandy of Roseville Designs feature gold foil text and a metallic emerald envelope liner. So pretty!

From Sandy: The bride wanted to have a classic wedding invitation with a little bit of fun and glam! The starting inspiration was the gorgeous custom watercolor crest created by Happy Menocal. It featured the couple’s initials and their beloved dog, Pedro! We balanced the softness of the crest with gold foil stamping of their names in a modern script. We also included elements of the crest on the RSVP card to tie it all together. The entire suite was printed on double-thick ecru felt stock, and finished with a metallic colored envelope liner.

Happy Menocal also created a married version of the crest, which we used in their day-of wedding stationery. We designed programs, menus, table numbers, and other signage that lived throughout the reception tent.

Nicole + Patrick’s Vintage-Inspired Lasercut Wedding Invitations

Happy Monday everyone! How about some beautiful vintage-inspired wedding invitations to start off the week? This invitation suite from Nichole at Coral Pheas­ant features gold foil on pale pink paper, intricate lasercut details, and romantic calligraphy from MM Ink. What more could a girl possibly ask for??

From Nichole: The wedding celebration of Nicole and Patrick was held at Branford House, a turn-of-the-century mansion with carved Gothic paneling and grand Baroque fireplaces overlooking the Long Island Sound. The magnificent Gatsby-esque venue, combined with details from the bride’s stunning beaded gown and palette of purples, pinks and gold was all the inspiration needed to bring this stationery suite to life!

The invitations were gold foil stamped and letterpress printed on blush Arturo cotton stock – duplexed to make it extra thick. Deco-inspired fonts were paired with beautiful calligraphy by MM Ink. Each invitation was mounted into a custom designed laser cut violet folio. For a modern take on the inner envelope, the folios were wrapped with a gold shimmer belly band each bearing the guest’s name in calligraphy.

The entire package was slipped into a gold shimmer envelope lined in a scallop pattern that was inspired by the beading on the bride’s gown. The outside of the envelope was just as carefully considered as the invitation. A collection of vintage stamps in coordinating shades of pink and purple adorned the outside and further ornamentation was added by MM Ink‘s gorgeous penmanship.

For the day-of stationery, the laser cut folio was re–imagined as the cover for the wedding programs and an enlarged version of the die cut details card became the dinner menu. The welcome box contained sweet and salty snacks with coordinating labels and the cover of welcome booklet featured the scallop pattern used on the envelope liners. Nicole embraced every opportunity to bring elements of her invitation design to her celebration – and I adored her for that level of detail!

Pascale + Maurice’s Colorful Cinco De Mayo Wedding Invitations

How about a little neon to brighten up your Wednesday? Heidi from idieh design sent over these vibrant invitations created for a Cinco de Mayo wedding, featuring neon fuchsia and neon orange paired with bright blue edge painting and kraft paper envelopes. So fun!

From Heidi: Pascale and Maurice wanted to merge tradition and trend in a fun and artistic way. Their wedding would take place on Cinco de Mayo weekend, so they chose to honor the Mexican holiday with a “fiesta-chic” theme. They wanted their invitation suite to incorporate a whimsical color scheme inspired by the very colorful Mexican culture.

We decided on an extra-thick invitation with vibrant neon fuchsia and neon orange to let guests know it was going to be a fun, festive, and bold celebration. The graphic Mexican banner subtly enclosed the couple’s initials within the cuts of the design. The invitation was backed with a vibrant chevron pattern that utilized spot coating varnish for a glossy finish.

Bright blue edge painting on the main invitation provided a finishing touch. The entire suite, including the adorable response card, was packaged in a kraft envelope lined with a black and white polka dot patterned liner.

The bold graphics and colorful palette continued throughout the wedding day with the over-the-top playful ceremony programs, the whimsical table numbers, and the cheerful escort cards.
