As we head into the 4th of July, we wanted to leave you with an easy, flavorful, and refreshing take on the Gin & Tonic to enjoy this weekend. This Raspberry Elderflower Gin and Tonic is fruity, crisp, and refreshing – basically everything you could possibly want from a summer drink. And they’re ridiculously easy to make, so run out to the grocery store for some raspberries and tonic (and gin and St-Germain, if you don’t already have some), and you have the perfect easy cocktail for all your July 4th picnics and BBQs. – Andrew
Raspberry Elderflower Gin and Tonic
Combine the gin, lemon juice, St-Germain, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker and add a handful of raspberries. Muddle the raspberries, then fill the shaker 2/3 with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled glass filled with fresh ice. Top with tonic water and garnish with fresh raspberries. Enjoy!
Nothing too complicated here. This is a quintessential Gin & Tonic, a perfect summer drink, just gussied up a bit. The original is crisp and effervescent and refreshing. This version bumps that up a bit with some summery pops of fruit, floral elderflower, and a splash of lemon and a dash of sugar. You could even try mixing in some fresh blackberries or strawberries – whatever summer fruit is available to you. You really can’t go wrong.
