Happy First Day of Summer everyone! I tried to make the most of the last official week of spring: I took a pointed pen calligraphy class taught by Michele of Meant To Be Calligraphy (that’s my handiwork below) and took Sophie for her first real outing in a playground – including her first experience in a swing! We don’t have any particular plans for the weekend, but I’m hoping to make some progress in setting up my office and unpacking our remaining boxes. I can’t wait to be organized again! But in the meantime…

I’ve been wanting to take a calligraphy class forever but can’t find any in my area of Columbus, OH. If anyone knows of any I’d be very grateful!
p.s. nice work!
Hi Emma! Have you checked with your local calligraphy guild? It looks like there is one for Columbus, so that would be the first place I’d start. Look or ask for a pointed pen course, which is what Michele offers here in DC. If the guild isn’t offering any classes, I’d email one of your local calligraphers asking if they’d be willing to teach. And of course if you ever have plans to visit DC, Michele teaches her class on a monthly basis and warmly welcomes out of town visitors!
I’ve been looking to purchase an oblique pen, nibs, and ink. I’d love to know what supplies Michele of Meant to be Calligraphy suggested! I looked on her website and couldn’t find anything.
Thanks!
