I’ll never forget the look on my mom’s face when I came home from a friend’s house with red nail polish on my dress, which she had just finished sewing for me out of a gorgeous blue/white/purple Liberty print that my dad had picked up while on business in London. She had also made a smaller dress for my doll Jenny (remember those dolls? Jenny, Mikey, Becky, and Mandy?). She was so mad. Haha. I just asked her about that on Mother’s Day. She remembers that day vividly. Maybe she’s still mad?
