Send More Mail

Chances are, if you’re reading this blog then you love to both send and receive mail (right??).  And if you’re a true correspondence connoisseur then you also appreciate beautiful stamps and a well-dressed envelope as part of a beautiful total package.  Well, Jaime from Joseph and Jaime Photography definitely falls into that category – and today she’s here to share a little project that she’s been working on showcasing the beauty of mailed paper correspondence.

Jaime has a side project called Send More Mail, where she collects packs of vintage Canadian stamps, and she’s partnered up with a stationer (Snap and Tumble) and a calligrapher (Barbara Kua) for a beautiful stationery collaboration.  As Jaime puts it: “Our collaboration is about considering all of the aspects of sending out correspondence and invitations.  A gorgeous card, addressed beautifully, complete with stunning vintage stamps.

Gradient Color Wedding Invitations

I’m loving the subtle gradient color shift in these invitations from Dingbat Press.  The invitations were printed using a letterpress technique called split fountain, in which two ink colors are distributed on the press at the same time so that they gradually blend together.  I’ve seen this done a few times before and I always think the results are stunning.  The gradient pattern reminds me a bit of watercolor, don’t you think?

Creative Moving Announcements

My awesome friend Maggie and her husband just bought their very first house and I couldn’t be more thrilled for them!  Maggie and I first became acquainted over our two blogs before she moved from Dallas to DC last winter.  Since then she has become a truly wonderful friend and I’m so so so excited to have her even a teensy bit closer in my neighborhood of Capitol Hill.  The official move will take place in a few weeks, but in the meantime I thought I’d round up a few creative moving announcements to help celebrate some happy news!

Kelly + Sean’s Scratch-Off Surprise Wedding Save the Dates

Now THIS is a fun idea – scratch off wedding save the dates!  Courtney from Swiss Cottage Designs designed these cute and clever save the dates for a recent couple, creating an instant game for each recipient!  Guests were invited to guess the wedding location, which was then revealed in the scratch off area at the bottom.

From Courtney: The couple was wanted something really unique to their story. We created the card so the guest would guess where the wedding will be based on all the locations relevant to the couple, then scratch off to find out.  Every save the date came with a penny in a glassine bag so the guest could play instantly!
