I’m still trying to wrap my head around holiday cards, much less gift ideas – but whenever possible I always try to come up with unique and personal holiday gift ideas for close friends and family.  Today, Courtney from Swiss Cottage Designs is giving one lucky reader the chance to win a completely personal holiday gift: one of her gorgeous custom illustrated maps!

Courtney is offering one lucky reader the chance to win a custom 8 x 10″ black and white map print – just like the three pictured here!  The map design can include up to 8 custom locations, tailored to the winner’s specifications.

  6. There is so much of the US I have yet to see. I have never been west of Mississippi! One of the places at the very top of my list is San Francisco, CA. I would also love to visit the Grand Canyon and Albuquerque, NM, my mom’s birthplace.

    I know it says to pick an area I would like to visit, but I’d really like one of San Diego. I took my bf there for his bday and we had such a great time exploring San Diego. It would sweet to have those artistically mapped out.

  17. I’d love to visit the south of Spain. I studied abroad in the Northern half of Spain but didn’t get a chance to go south! I’d love to see it all someday.

  20. I think the better question is where would I not want to visit! I would love to do an ‘around-the-world trip’ one day! But, if I had to get specific, I think Poland would be great since that’s where my grandparents were from.

  35. I have wanted to visit Giverny, France since I was eight years old. My aunt gave me a book called “Linnea in Monet’s Garden”, and I fell in love with the art of Claude Monet. This love led me to take French from middle school through college. I’ve warned my fiance that, if we ever get to go to Monet’s garden in Giverny, I’m likely to burst into happy tears. 🙂

  40. I would love to visit Ireland. Both my fiance and myself have ancestors from there. My great grandfather dropped the O in O’Sullivan when he came to America from Ireland. So I would love to find out what other relatives we might have in there if we ever visit. They also have such pretty landscapes and old cute little towns. It would be a great place to go. 🙂

Writing from France for the first time on this blog, i just stopped when I saw the first map because I got married last summer at “Chateau Font du Broc” and we had the brunch the day after at St Endreol Golf, what a small world! I leave Paris in february to live in Australia for a year in Brisbane with my husband so that’s the place I choose!

  45. This is not very exotic, but I daydream about visiting the western parts of the United States – Montana and Wyoming and Utah, etc. I’ve always lived in cities, so I have a craving for that idea of wide open space.

  51. Sicily! I am a first generation Sicilian and I love visiting there…I haven’t been since I had my daughter, but I would really enjoy having a little reminder of it around the house! 🙂

  58. The one i dream about takes me and my girlfriend through Scotland, Hebrides, Shetland Islands, Faroe Islands, Iceland and finally Greenland. Hopping from one island to the other like Gulliver. 🙂 Would be the perfect trip for introspection. Actually it would be more like a pilgrimage. Perfect destination.

    I would LOVE to visit Switzerland! My mom traced back our genealogy to Switzerland and even found and contacted relatives there! I would love to go visit and find my roots someday 🙂
